Georgia Tech and UNC has been a turnover fest in the first half.... This ND Pitt game is really going slow.
Ok State with heavy momentum right now. A&M players going down left and right trying to slow the hurry up offense.
Bama's D is incredible. I personally think it's the best in the Nation followed by LSU's. A&M just turned the ball over.... OK. State has all the momentum this half so far.
Okie State fans chanting, "Big 12, Big 12" in the final minutes of that game in College Station is my new favorite thing ever. raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens okie state fans chanting big 12 what rhymes with kitten? lalalalalalala lalalalalalaaaaaa these are a few of my favorite things....
Went to the game. Okie St fans were fun and normal in my section. I didn't hear any of that, but oh well. Back to the game...first time to see this current team in person from a film standpoint. Tannihill is not a good QB...just average. He locks on hard, doesn't make progressions, and has an inconsistent arm. If you're not great at Read and Recognition, then you MUST have a gun of an arm with pinpoint accuracy. It's one or the other...if you have both, then you're a star. He has neither...those are the attributes of an average college QB. Also, I blame the defensive coaching staff more than the DB's in the 2nd half. I mean, okay, maybe the Okie St. WRs are big-time studs that will out muscle the A&M DBs and beat them on double-moves and go for big plays. Maybe that will happen, but my goodness, give the DBs a chance to get burned; let them prove their suckiness and maybe, they'll make a play. All 2nd half long, they just played soft coverage, back from the line and Ok St just went WR screen, WR screen, shallow crossing patter, WR screen, all to the tune of record passing yards. That was horrible defensive coaching. Jam the WRs, press them, otherwise your blitz won't work when every hot route is open bc the DBs are playing with such a huge cushion. This horrible defensive game was reminiscent of the Texans getting shredded by old Mark Brunell and the Redskins getting shredded by Brady during the 16-0 season. It's one thing to get beat, but to give up and just let Ok St have anything and put the onus on them not to play smart...that crap only works against terrible teams. There was only 1 turnover, and that wasn't because Ok St. QB was getting greedy on the deep ball...so the defensive strategy was just a complete flop.
I've never been high on Tannehill myself... and I agree with the coaching assessment. Coaching was the problem on both sides of the ball. Sherman should have ran more on first down. He put TAMU in some awkward 3rd down situations.
