It's going to be a long offseason. Glad to see some Barkley Rockets highlights pop up on YouTube.

    Enjoy.

Great to see the highlights from this game again ... but being disconnected from it for so long, it's strange to think about the role reversal -- that we were rooting for Charles Barkley against Robert Horry in an important playoff game.

Very strange to see Barkley and Pippen hug as the horn sounded also. It was all downhill from there.

    Oops.

    This was an interesting team.

Barkley killed in these 4 games. Dream struggled, Scottie couldn't shoot...

I remember this season, when I told my Laker co workers that they were going to get beat down by the Rockets.

Barkley's play was the only bright spot in this series.

Does anyone know what Shaq/Lakers did to make Dream so invisible? I mean he was obviously out of his prime but focus on the dropoff from Regular Season to Playoffs, Dream was still an All-Star, during the regular season at least.

It was strange, and one of the reasons that Barkley is still so annoyed with the Rockets I believe.

Hakeem was totally done after he got the knee surgery in 97. Too much wear and tear on his knees. His offense just wasn't there. He would have a few big games where he got the jumper going but he would massively struggle against bigger centers because he was pretty undersized (6'10, 255) and that knee surgery took away any quickness he had. He couldn't put pressure on it to get that jumphook going to the middle. I still remember Ostertag swatting his shot in the 1998 playoffs 3x in a row. One of my worst memories.

    1. Good see some Barkley highlights. I was such a fan of his I actually bought that payama jersey of his.

    2. Pippen had such talent. When he was locked in even during then, you couldn't find a many better wing players. Sad that he didn't consistently give us that.

    3. That logo is so horrible that it makes the permanent tv scoreboard look horrible, really really horrible.

    4. hehe. Rocketvision. So corny.

    5. Man, I miss Calvin Murphy as the color commmentator.

    6. I miss when zone defenses were illegal (unless your coach was George Karl), and post players could actually play in the post.

One of my favorite players and the reason I started watching the NBA. It's too bad the Dream was no longer the Dream and was crappy after 97

Beautiful basketball, everybody was posting up none of that strictly 3pt game. 3 players posting up making plays for each other not settling for soft ass jumpers. Take notes rocket big players.

We should get that retro Rocket CGI intro thing back. Spice it up by showing it crash into the opponent's logo and blowing it up or something-- that'll give us power.

He had a big game 1 in this series, IIRC.

Chuck, who was not in his prime with the Rockets, still put on a clinic on how to play in the low post and how to board.
