Wake up at 5:00 am, my work takes about 20 mins from Houston (Where I live) to Richmond/Rosenberg... No traffic no hassle, stress free...

This is kind of neat, an old thread updated throughout different years.

Back at Digital Anvil I was producing a game called Starlancer, which was done between Austin and Manchester England - I flew back and forth for 2 years every couple of weeks, but when I was in Austin, I worked UK hours...so I came in at 3am...and went to bed by like 8pm...lol

I usually work 9-6 so that's not bad, but working in I.T = lots of late nights.

Tangent- I freaking hate how it's expected for IT to work 'regular' work hours AND any other hours without extra pay. Bullsh.

It is not just IT, tons of jobs require extra hours these days....in fact, in development I can't recall many folks working only 40.....it seems 50 is the new 40.

I wonder for whom you work that they do that to you, which is illegal. I'm leaving at noon today and I get extra time taken off. It is in our policies that I should even get one-and-a-half hours for every hour I work during non-regular business hours. Read your HR policies.

    I think it was 6am...

I used to get to work at 7:30am but now we started working out in the mornings at 5:30am so I get to work at 8:30am.

    This.

I don't do any work if I am not getting paid overtime unless it is an emergency. PERIOD.

I work 7-5 and get every other Fridays off. Don't have to work any extra hours but getting up at 6 to go to work still hurts after being a year and a half moved from college.
