In most 3-4 defenses people pay attention to the NT. Raji and Matthews were the two draft choices in Caper's first year that helped them skyrocket up to around the #5 defense in just their first year. Since it sure as heck doesn't look like Cody/Mitchell will be getting any praise, maybe Watt does get his due. That's if this defense ends up shooting into the top half for the year.

i'm kinda jealous of the jets' and their crap load of above avg. WRs
seriously how the heo did they get so much WR
i still think mark sanchez is overrated

do you guys think we need a better slot WR. it seems like nowadays slot receiver damage the opponent more and the #1 WR is there to the clutch moments

I'm sure they feel the same way about our stable of backs.

It's always good to upgrade any position, but we have more pressing needs than WR right now. We need a true starting NT, a better corner opposite Joseph, and depth on both lines before we need another WR. Walter and Jacoby are perfectly good #2 and #3 receivers. Plus, with how much our TE's and backs are involved in the passing attack, having great slot receivers isn't as critical as in other offenses.

Oh, and Sanchez sucks, but I don't see anyone who's saying otherwise. So he's not overrated, I guess.

Brandon Harris is vying with McManis for 5th on the CB depth chart, and hasn't even made a play on special teams. A little worrisome that Brice McCain has out played him. With his size, I want to say they pegged him as a nickelback all along. He isn't expected to supplant Kareem.

Roc Carmichael (CB) was taken in the 4th, but he's on IR (shoulder)

Shiloh Keo (S) was taken 5th, which surprised me because he was known as a pure hitter that had issues in coverage......he was cut (and signed to practice squad). I have little hope for him.

Why couldn't a one gap NT be a behemoth? Even if he couldn't penetrate as fast at least he'd do it more reliably. The ends and OLB would seal the edges and as the QB steps up into the pocket, that would be when the NT comes barreling through.

Everyone wants a Suh in the middle...but that's about as easy as grabbing the next franchise center in the NBA.

We definitely have placeholders at the position, it's just a matter of when we get the crack at the real deal in the draft.

Behemoths generally aren't fast enough to penetrate one gaps. I think the Texans will look hard to find a big one gap NT. I do think Cody needs to be upgraded. Mitchell should be fine as a backup and may still get to be better than he currently is.

Less than 48 hours til kickoff!!!!! Oh how bad I wish I could fast forward time. If we win this game, how many other games will the Texans be the underdogs in. Zero?

Wade needs to look for some of them DT's from the Pac 10... Most are straight bulls...We got the high motor DE from the Big 10, We have the sure tackling leader from the SEC at LB... We missing the ballhawk from the ACC Pac 10 run stuffer.... Great scouting and recognition goes a long way....

Maybe two. By the time we play ATL we should have already proven ourselves.

at this point the D has outperformed the offense. 3 of the Texans touchdowns came from very short field position because the defense forced a turnover..

The Texans rank #1 in total defense, #1 against the pass, have given up the fewest points, and have never trailed. the defense kept that miami game winnable for the texans. when you continuously drive down field and only get 3 its incredible that the D never turned the lead over.. the first TD was credit to the defense,

    No.

They had to face a freshly-into-the-playbook Kerry Collins and Chad Henne.
