TCU's stadium can more than deal with the UT/OU crowds. Oklahoma State never presented a problem for UH at Robertson, and I doubt OU would either. The only team that would warrant a Reliant stadium game for UH is UT. And even then, the new stadium will go up soon, so that won't be a problem afterwards.

SMU's stadium, although nice, is small, and might warrant games vs. UT/OU somewhere else, but I don't expect them to end up in the Big 12 either way.

I hope LSU/A&M ends up getting played in Reliant every year, or maybe rotating between there and the Superdome. That would be a fun neutral site.

Only problem with this is I keep hearing that Big 12 schools will only give SEC the release for A&M if SEC agrees not to poach any more Big 12 schools. That would affect your Mizzou leaves for SEC thought.

I'm super-rooting for UH to be included...I would love to be able to go to Big 12 games here in town.

If the Big 12 does survive, I'm guessing it's going to include a 5 year commitment at a minimum backed by a big buyout. If we do get a new commissioner, I don't think he's gonna let other conferences start poaching just one year later, hopefully not at all.

Also, Air Force will be added before TCU and Houston IMO. BYU and Air Force have been the names heard the most in terms of expansion with a lot of talk of opposing both TCU and UH.

That's why I said Mizzou leaves, not the SEC grabs Mizzou, wink wink.

But, I have a fallback scenario for if Mizzou stays, which would be just fine and dandy with me.

Yeah, they're not gonna write the release that way to allow for that...I don't think they're that stupid. It will say something like, "SEC agrees not to extend invitation to another Big XII Member Institution for the next ____ years."

I'm also hearing that the commitment that will be signed this year will involve steep penalties and a very lengthy waiting period. No more Beebe to screw that up.

Better late than never to circle the wagons, I guess.

I think it's only a matter of time before the SEC gets Mizzou.

At that point is when I hope UH has new facilities and receives its invitation, fffffffffffffinally.

if they tried that now, i can't imagine any school in the conference granting a release to the SEC. why would they?

mizzou's chancellor has been the MOST active in working to keep the the Big 12 together of late. if the Big 12 had fallen apart, yeah, I think Mizzou might go SEC; though I kept hearing the school president and many others were willing to wait on the Big 10 because they're an AAU school and felt like that was a better fit.

my guess is SEC may want Mizzou...but will settle on WVU.

Like I said, matter of time. However long it takes. Not "now". I figure the SEC's potential money w/ A&M in tow will eventually buy Mizzou's heart.

Can't see Mizzou in the Big 10 Unless ND finally cracks and the Big 10 brings in Mizzou along with them.

If the SEC settles for WVU, then you can take Marshall, Southern Miss, or Memphis and put them in the Big East along with UCF/ECU.

Either way, they'll all be fine and the Big 12 isn't going anywhere because the main power brokers in the conference don't want it to. My only concern is getting another set of cougars in the door once it opens. Deloss Dodds' stubborn ass be damned.

I agree that there is more money to be made by adding local teams than there is by going out and grabbing an Air Force or Cincinatti. The problem is going to be politics. It can make all the financial sense in the world, but getting some people to swallow their pride, or bare minimum, to stop cutting each others' throats, is going to be hard to do. If Deloss Dodds kills the A&M game and keeps UH/TCU out of the Big 12, he will have cemented his legacy as the worst thing to happen to college football in this state since the death penalty hit SMU.

Anyone in his position at UT would probably do the same thing. The bottom line is UT's selfish interest, which is the AD's primary concern. The UH & TCU stance makes total sense; the A&M cancellation is debatable.

Come on Donny, UT/A&M is a big rivalry but let's not get carried away. The OU/Nebraska game was just as big, if not bigger, and we're not hearing a whole lot about that game going away. Dodds made it known pretty early on that if A&M leaves the Big 12, the game will likely end. Call it what you want, but it's a consequence of wanting out of a conference rivalry which is over 100 years old. At the end, it's A&M walking away from conference games against UT, Baylor, and TT, not the other way around.

As has been beautifully illustrated by multiple posters already, the only thing stopping UT from playing A&M is UT.

as much as i would love to have that game here in hou, seeing those schools in their own stadiums would be huge. Arguably the two best places to watch a game in the country. So I am rooting for neutral site with ark which they already have but I want the LSU/AM game played on campus.

SO TAMU should have said we are forsaking going anywhere and leaving this **** hole of a conference behind just for one game a year? Why can't they just let us go and keep playing?

Sounds like someone is scared of playing an SEC school every year to me...
