Tinman, do you really think if T-Mac and Kobe swapped places 2001-2004, he would not have had success? T-Mac's 2002-2003 season, albeit a fluky season in terms of PER, was better than any of Kobe's season. In that season, the second scoring leader for Orlando was something called a "Pat Garrity".

Kobe proved he could take over in the playoffs and play well with other players, even if he doesn't like them.

If Tracy actually led the Rockets to playoff glory, then you can make a case that it was an upgrade in teammates, but the results have been the same.

Do you honestly think that there's a comparison based on career? it's not even close.

You judge a player on his whole body of work not a few seasons... Clyde Drexler told me that.

No, no comparison obviously over careers. Peak to peak? Absolutely. T-Mac's last three year stretch in Orlando matches anything Kobe has done.

    81 points is 81 points.

I figured that someone would mention Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points, but sadly, those knowledgeable fans are on vacation.

Kobe won championships dude. At his "PRIME" Tmac couldn't even win a first round in the eastern conference. Yes, the same conference with the weak Raptors.

Maybe I'm just an old fan, who thinks that a player who's won MVPs and championships is better than a player than hasn't done anything for any team.

Why is Hakeem better than Patrick Ewing? Is it because he can Dream Shake?

Why is Michael Jordan better than Dominique? Is it because he has nicer shoes? Is it because he beat him in a dunk contest?

It doesn't take Einstein to figure out why Kobe is better than Tracy.
You can pick out some stats here and there, but you know who the better player is. Just because you think Tmac's silky jumper is nicer than Kobe doesn't mean anything. It's still 2 points or 3 points.

But he was injured.. Guess what? Dexterity is part of the game.
Yeah if Michael Jordan was injured all the freaking time, we wouldn't have all these MJ moments right?

If you still think Tmac is better than Kobe, then Professor X can't change your mind.

And why is it Kobe? there's OBVIOUS envy that Kobe ,out of the young all stars back in the day, became the best player of the bunch.

All the championships argument goes out the window when you look at what Tracy McGrady had to work with. Kobe was always surrounded with the best players and when he wasn't, he didn't win, just like McGrady. Do you seriously think that prime T-Mac + Shaq would not have won multiple championships? His second fiddle was PAT FCKING GARRITY.

Not that it matters but since Kobe's highest is 81 we should also point out that T-Mac's highest is 62 points, not 43. Although it was against the Wizards again.

Oh come on. Irrational T-Mac fans are annoying but at least give the man his due for what he has accomplished. Kobe is better and has the obviously achieved a great deal more than McGrady, for sure, but T-Mac did do some impressive things over the course of his career.

That's like saying hungry fat people or horny p*rn addicts.

But this thread is about Kobe Bryant's 81 points, it's amazing nobody has mentioned (Besides me) Wilt, Jordan or the elite scorers of today like LeBron, Melo, or Wade.

Oh yeah I remembered that! There was a time when Tmac and Shaq won championships together that time was

    never.

once again, the argument for tmac is always hypothetical situations. there's nothing hypothetical about 81 points in a game.

There's nothing hypothetical about 13 points in 33 seconds.
There's nothing hypothetical about Tracy getting injured.
There's nothing hypothetical about Tracy carrying his playoff teams through and through.

On Clutchfans, when we talk hypotheticals, its usually about you having a brain and a heart. In reality, you possess neither. You can complain everyday about Tracy being a heartless douche, but at least he has a brain. He'll always be one step ahead of you in that regard. Nice moniker by the way, fits you perfectly.

I have never ever seen a Rocket fan try so hard to belittle other Rocket fans. Why can't you just let others be fans of T-mac if they want?

Tinman you get all defensive when people trash your thread and go on about "if you don't like it, why do you post in it?"

Yet you do that to every McGrady thread out there.

I think you should make it clear, what did McGrady do to you that makes you hate him so much? Maybe if you shed some light people will stop demolishing you, at least not as much.

I heard something along the lines that he dissed you or something.
