Ah, Pizza Inn on Center St. I used to sneak out of school lunch and go hit up that buffet quite often. Last time I was in DP that location is now the home to a place called Howdy Burger. Sad times.
There was on on Imperial Valley and Richey Road but it got shut down . It used to be pretty good, but I didn't know there were other locations
There's one off I-45 south before 610 I think. We stopped there a while back before heading to a concert at Toyota Center. After eating the pizza's from Candalarie's, I couldn't even think about eating any chain type pizza again. Pure heaven to the taste buds.
Thanks for the heads up. I had heard of Grimaldi's but have not tried it. Had never heard of Tony's though... We'll give it a shot next time for pizza.
If you're ever in Kingwood, "break the chain" and stop by RC's Pizza for a real NY pie. Their subs are amazing too. http://rcspizza.com I worked at the Pizza Inn in Huntsville for about a week in college. Got fired for staying after closing time and drinking all the beer. Ah, college...
Cici's is not pizza. It's frozen cardboard slathered in "tomato" paste and covered with "cheese product".
Pizza Inn has been and always will be my favorite pizza. Brothers Pizza is up there, of course, but Pizza Inn has been with me since my childhood. Their toppings were just so much more tastier than the other places. And now they're like the Blimpie of pizza chains. I miss me some good ol' deep dish pizza.
me too, yes its good. i don't know if its still there but there was one off 45 north that wasn't so good
There's a pizza inn buffet off of Sheldon Road and I10 I went about a year ago to, and it was allright for the price you pay. I know some of the pizza hut locations offer a buffet lunch and Star pizza has a good buffet lunch....
I'm not a big pizza eater because I personally think they all either taste "like crap" or "taste pretty good". I've never been wow'ed by pizza. One of my co-workers loves making pizza at home and invited us over to his house for a pizza party/get-together. Another co-worker originally from Chicago said the usual "Texas pizza is crap" etc, etc, and the only place he can enjoy pizza is at Giordano's and their stuffed pizza. So the guy throwing the party ordered 3 of them to be delivered by air to Dallas. For the first time in my life I can actually tell the difference in a pizza. This was great pizza. I would eat it again if there was one nearby. BTW, Giordano's declared bankruptcy earlier this year, but is still operating. I saw that story on Google News and forwarded it to my co-worker who loves the place - poor guy nearly had a heart attack.
I had to work late, and that Pizza Inn is between my office and home, so I dropped by to try it. The pizza that they had fresh was very good, especially the thin crust, but most of their pizza had been under a lamp for a while and wasn't so great. If they do enough lunch business, I'm sure the buffet would get enough turnover to be better. I might eat there for dinner again, but I'll just call an order ahead and carry-out. Mediums are $5.99.
The only one I know is by Delmar. It's still there. I pass it by all the time when I go to Chick Fil A at Northwest Mall... yikes. I want to say there is one on Gessner by Spring Woods.
I've seen I think a few Pizza Ins around town...they still exist. But I guess it's like Little Ceasars, they're just hard to find. Cici's is not that bad for what it is...cheap pizza. Sometimes you just gotta craving for 5 dollar pizza buffet! But Double Daves is a little better. Godfather's has a buffet too, but I wasn't overly impressed with their pizza. The Pizza Hut by UH used to have a lunch buffet when I was in school. That freakin' owned.
When the one in Missouri City was open, the guys there would make pizza's for me and put them in the all you can eat area. It was very good.
You should ask them about their time machine, or the YMCA Soccer League for which they just had their end of year banquet.
