Yahoo Accused Of Censoring Occupy Wall Street Emails http://gothamist.com/2011/09/20/adbusters_accuses_yahoo_of_censorin.php Is Yahoo blocking emails with links to the Occupy Wall Street website? The short answer is yes, sometimes. We were able to send emails through our ancient, all-but-forgotten Yahoo accounts (it's been a while, Chunkylover53@yahoo.com!) but check out this video, which shows someone trying and failing to send an email with the www.occupywallstreet.org url in the body. After clicking send, the user is told: "Your message was not sent. Suspicious activity has been detected on your account. To protect your account and our users, your message has not been sent." Instead, check out this teaser for tonight's new episode of "Raising Hope"! On Twitter, Adbusters directly accused Yahoo of "censoring" emails, and Think Progress reports that "we too were prevented from sending messages about the 'Occupy Wall Street' demonstrations." So if this is happening, the question is why? Is Yahoo, helps the Chinese government track dissidents, futilely trying to stop these protesters from bringing the whole capitalist MACHINE to its knees? No, how silly of you to think that, you paranoid loony lefty. A Yahoo spokesperson tells us, "There’s a simple explanation for this. We learned about this yesterday and our team quickly resolved it. Unfortunately, the domain 'occupywallst.org' was being caught by one of our spam filters when some users tried to send messages containing it. This was a false positive which we corrected yesterday. However, there may still be residual delay (up to 24 hours) for users trying to send emails with that phrase. Thank you to the Yahoo! Mail users who notified us about this." Well, that's that! No conspiracy to see here! As it happens, the revolution will not be televised, it'll just be treated like a discount Viagra email. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Things are getting serious. but it is not a revolution.
Don't mind this at all. Social movements take forever; are initially impractical in the context of order and stability, and always start either violently or small, weird and annoying.
Geeze, what kind of effed up grip is that guy using? And how 'bout replacing that head? It probably has the tone of a paper plate. (I've never been a fan of the Remo Pinstripes, frankly) Disgraceful.
When I first read that i thought you said Evans > Romo... was going to ask who the f... was evans, but no matter who he was, this would be true. Hail to the Redskins!
If this same protest is happening in China, Would CNN or BBC ignore it like this? Blackout: CNN, Fox, and MSNBC Ignore Thousands Of US Day Of Rage Protesters http://www.politicususa.com/en/media-blackout-us-day-of-rage Most Americans are being kept in the dark about the US Day of Rage by the corporate cable news giants at CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC who have imposed a de facto blackout on the protest. Even though estimates have varied from hundreds to as many as 50,000 protesters flooded into Manhattan and others cities to take part in events around the country to, “nonviolently disrupt the disloyal, incompetent, and corrupt special interests which have usurped our nation’s civil and military power, spawning a host of threats to our liberty, lives and national security,” the three cable news networks have devoted no airtime to the story. This is becoming an all too familiar scene. In Wisconsin hundreds of thousands of regular people took to the streets each weekend to protest the theft of their rights, and were completely ignored by CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC. Sarah Palin’s Iowa tea party speech was 1/50 as big as the Wisconsin protests, yet she was deemed worthy of national media coverage. The kowtowing of the corporate media to the conservative agenda continued last week as CNN climbed in bed with the Tea Party Express to host a Republican presidential debate that was chocked full of rhetoric about how taxes must be cut to protect the same “job creators” who crashed the US economy in 2008, and have continued to reap record profits by sitting on bailout money, and not hiring any new workers. CNN decided that the Tea Party was a worthy news partner, but covering a protest that is happening right under their very noses in New York City is not important to the American people. (In fact as I type this, CNN is running another self-congratulatory segment on their Tea Party Express debate/total sellout to the right). No one expects the pro-business corporate propaganda/GOP propaganda mouthpiece Fox News to devote any coverage to the occupation of Wall Street, but the supposed progressive news network, MSNBC can’t “lean forward” long enough to turn off their true crime doc block to cover an event that is happening minutes away from their studios. The corporate cable news media ignored Wisconsin, and now they are ignoring the protests of regular Americans who want their democracy placed back into their hands. The corporate media have proven time and time again that they are an obstacle to, not a provider of truth. Unlike the bogus tea party movement, the Occupy Wall Street protest features people of all ages, colors, shapes, sizes, and political affiliations. These people are protesting a broken system. They are protesting a loss of freedom. They are protesting inequality, and they are fighting for our rights. Whether or not the corporate media cameras are in attendance, the protests will go on. Americans will continue to march, and those who love their country will continue to battle to make it better. The conservative media bias of the cable news industry can and will be overcome. We don’t need video to feel the heart of America beat strong. (Note: The 50,000 was an estimated attendance. Other estimates place the number of attendees in NYC in the hundreds to the thousands. The title has been changed to reflect conflicting attendance estimates).
Based on the pics and videos, they are several blocks from Wall Street. Close by but not the same thing.
Someone PLEASE do a photoshop of this guy with Yao's head, hilarity will almost certainly ensue. Thank you in advance.
Day 8. more than 100 arrested today. Is it a still a small party for Hippies? Mainstream media are doing their best to ignore them but the polices not.

That's because it's a bunch of kids with no goals, and no idea what they want, or how to get there. All they know is the economy's bad. They want to be the next great revolutionaries freeing people from tyranny, these people have no idea what tyranny is. They're waving their signs at Wall Street, and comparing themselves to the Libyans and Egyptians, but they have no idea how lucky they are In a couple of days, they'll probably go home to their women's studies classes and prisuses, and complain about how the big evil Wall Street pepper sprayed them, and wouldn't let them obstruct traffic. Meanwhile, a dictator in Syria is leveling cities, over there, they're fighting a real war, against a real oppression.
Pretty awakening. They thought USA is a democracy country and should be different from dictators' tyranny, like propaganda said, they thought they were protected by the constitution. ... I thought that too. USA is no different than any dictator's tyranny or maybe even worse, because USA also do the invasions to other countries ....that reminds me of Nazi.
