I'm not buying into the Bills. They do this every year. One or two great games, gets everybody all riled up about Fitzpatrick. Then the rest of the time, it's just subpar football. I fully expect them to get curbstomped by NE.
Bills Im not buying into either. Game 1 vs the Chiefs, they looked impressive. But in week 2, the Chiefs got stomped again, which made the Bills week 1 victory look less impressive. At best, their passing game is decent. Against a weak defense they can put up points, but can they do this all season long? Who knows. Can their D withstand some of the offensive fire power that has been on display from half of the league thus far? Doubt it. 6-10 is my prediction, 2012 will be their breakout year, if they have one.
Solid lineup on Houston TV Sunday with NYG/PHI and GB/CHI out of market games. I sure hope Vick plays.
I wish they would just show AFC games the majority of the time since the Texans are in the AFC. i'd rather watch games that directly affect our standings.
It all depends on which network has the double-header that week. What irks me the most is (I think) when a team plays at home, they blackout one of the games on the other network and we only get two afternoon games total. The Texans are a guaranteed sellout so there is no reason avoid showing another game opposite them.
I remember those days of having to watch crappy NFC matchups at 3 PM, like Redskins-Cowboys or something putrid like that. Now I have Redzone and life is good.
SNF should've changed their schedule when they realized Peyton was out indefinitely. 95% of SNF games these days are really good games that go down to the wire... but I have a hard time believing that'll hold for this Colts-Steelers game.
I have to agree. If Buffalo meets KC in a week that's not week 1, I think they win by maybe 10 points.
huh? They do what every year? Are you referring to last year when they started 0-8 on their way to a 4 win season? Season where Fitzpatrick threw for over 300 yards just twice (in an overtime loss, and a win against the Bengals)? Or maybe it's the only other year Fitzpatrick was the QB where they started 1-4 and ended up with 6 wins, with Fitz never throwing for 300 yards in a game and twice throwing for under 80? When outside of the last 2 games was Fitzpatrick ever good?
I think their main reason is that Freddie Jackson might actually be legit this year. If he is, the Bills are legit.
Sources saying Eagles expect Vick to play http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6...hael-vick-play-vs-new-york-giants-source-says Although Michael Vick will first have to pass his concussion tests before being officially cleared, the Eagles believe he should be able to play Sunday against the New York Giants, a team source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. The Giants are hoping Vick plays, safety Antrel Rolle said on Tuesday. "I want the best of the best," he said on his weekly radio spot with WFAN. "And he is the best. I hope Michael Vick plays, because at the end of the day, I don't want any excuses when we go down to Philly and put it to them the way we will." On Monday, head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder wouldn't give a timetable for Vick's return. "That's foolish on our part medically to put time frame out there," Burkholder said Monday. "Everybody wants to know a time frame, everybody wants to know whether Mike's going to play, everybody wants to know whether Mike's going to practice. We're going to go through our protocol and when Mike's ready to practice, I'm going to turn him over to coach and he's going to make a decision whether he's ready to play, had reps, all that kind of stuff." Vick was injured in the third quarter when he was spun around by a defender and slammed into right tackle Todd Herremans. His neck whipped back and he bit his tongue, which led to him spitting blood on his way off the field. Vick wasn't woozy and seemed fully alert. He certainly was aware of the score -- 31-21 in favor of the Eagles -- when he pointed it out to fans in the Georgia Dome on his way in for tests. Vick barely failed those baseline tests, so the medical staff kept him on the sideline. "He was just a little bit off, enough that we acted on the side of caution to hold him back as our standard protocol says," Burkholder said. "I was with him on the airplane. He was absolutely fine last night. As the days go on, we'll see, but last night he was pretty good. He told coach he was fine, he told his teammates he was fine, he told me he was fine, and he was very far along last night." Without Vick, Philadelphia couldn't hold onto the lead and lost 35-31 to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night. Vick must pass several different tests and be evaluated by an independent neurologist before he can be cleared to return. The Pro Bowl quarterback had thrown for 242 yards and two touchdowns in his first game as a starter in Atlanta since going to prison and being released by the Falcons. Reid sounded encouraged by a conversation he had with Vick after the game. "He remembered everything," Reid said. "He recalled everything. I tried to quiz him and see where he was at. He was frustrated that he wasn't able to finish. He had a vested interest in finishing." When asked if the Giants will concoct two game plans to prepare for Vick and his potential replacement Mike Kafka, coach Tom Coughlin promptly responded that his expectation is that Vick will play. "I expect Michael Vick will play and if he can't play, I'm sure he will," Coughlin said. "I think that if Michael Vick can play, he will play."
Let me rephrase, Fitzpatrick has this tendency to put up 2-3 games with great fantasy numbers, and then the rest of the time it's garbage. Didn't mean to say the Bills do well, just their fantasy production. Gets everybody all excited, then promptly letdown. For example, weeks 5 (230 yards 3 tds), 7 (380 yards 4 tds), and 11 (320 yards 4 tds) last year... it drew a lot of people into the hype down the stretch that Fitz would do something, and he promptly shat the bed.
Let's say Blaine Gabbert outplays Cam? What happens then? Media begins to dog Cam? Blaine is the next coming of Jesus?
I am expecting a minor Cam cool down this week. Something like 14-29, 230 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT. Rashean Mathis is a very opportunistic CB, and we saw what C-Wood did to him last week.
C-Wood got scorched for 150+ yards. Two picks or not, he didn't exactly have a Nnamdi-esqe performance. Jacksonville's pass D is bad, Cam will be fine.
Ok thats understandable, from a fantasy standpoint. But he hasn't got much attention when it comes to winning real games on a consistent basis until the blip this week. Hopefully that can change, even in a losing effort this week, because he seems like a class act.
It's the only game I have money on this weekend as far as point spreads. I think he'll have north of 250, 1TD 1INT and Carolina covers the -3.0 spread.
