    ????

It's an "antiglobalization movement" whose goals is to "restore democracy in America".

    (1) Money makes the world go round. Always has. Always will. Fighting it is futile.

    (2) Exactly who is supposed to receive this message? Do they expect Wall Street people to change their ways as a result of this protest? Do they expect American political leaders to NOT be influenced by financial concerns as a result of this protest? Who is the intended recipient of this message?

    (3) Either they don't realize that (1) and (2) above are true, and they're all a bunch of idiots, OR they DO realize that (1) and (2) above are true and they're a bunch of a$$holes for protesting anyway. Either way, they suck.

These people should just be happy with the way things are and they should never do anything to express their displeasure.

Oh! Gonna go all slippery-slope on us?

There's a big difference between "expressing their displeasure" and what they're doing.

I don't like the NBA lockout. Perhaps I should "express my displeasure" by blowing up a building?!

I just had lunch down there, and was actually down tehre on saturday. The turnout is...not impressive.

BTW, most of the major financial firms (save GS) are not on/in the Wall street area anymore. If they went to Park avenue in the 40's and 50's they'd be closer to the carcass of Bear Stearns, hedge funds, etc.

They're just bringing attention to the "problem."

These are the soldiers of InfoWars, which is led by a charismatic paranoid schizophrenic who does a podcast from his basement.

What? They are protesting. Free speech and such, democracy yada yada.

How did you jump from peaceful protests to comparing it to "blowing up a building" ? thadeus nailed it (pun intended) with his post.

It looks like they are just hanging out on a Tuesday.

Butterfly effect man. Hanging out on a Tuesday leads to thermonuclear catastrophe on a Thursday. Not worth the risk.

I get your point, but sometimes it helps if you actually know what it is that you're protesting. I've read their 'call to action' 5 times now and I'll be damned if I can figure it out.

    Huh?? Can somebody please translate?

I wish I could figure out what they're so upset about. Frankly, I don't think they even have a clue. Most are just professional protesters there to make the scene and shoot video for their YouTube accounts and Facebook pages. Sadly, this is probably true for 99% of all protests these days (tea party, etc.) It's not exactly 1968 anymore.

My old roommate was one of these guys. They have a general idea what they're mad about, but it's all based on the ideas of a paranoid schizophrenic. They say 9/11 was an inside job, fluoride is being used to dumb down the population, Bill Gates is a eugenicist, Obama is a puppet of some globalist agenda, Ron Paul is God, etc... In a word, they're easily manipulated crazies, who accuse all "non-believers" to be easily manipulated crazies.

In my post, I said they were either idiots or a$$holes.

    I was wrong. They're both.

IMO, they are occupying the wrong place. The white house is the place where the bankers party everyday.

I feel like they do it to feed their ego on a subconscious level. They're typically social outcasts, so it kind of justifies their lifestyle. They feel only a truly enlightened person could see the world as they do, so they can cast the rest off as sheep who aren't even worthy of their time. I'm amazed how much steam this stuff has gathered. Alex Jones has truly done an excellent job feeding on the insecurities of these people. I see them everywhere, it's scary.

Oh, and to you Ron Paul supporters, he's a regular on this guy's show. How nice would it be to have a schizo like Alex Jones so close to the freakin' White House.

Exactly, the fact that people were comparing this to the Arab Spring is ridiculous.

Yeah, this sort of thing definitely deserves a far more effective and vastly more disruptive sort of protest.

I mean, this is the one street that more or less bankrupted every other street in the country.
