Oh, my bad. I stand by my statement of betting on Rampage though, couple 100 could turn into big money if he pulls off the upset. Rampage Smash!!!<a href="http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php" title="Smiley"><img src="http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-bounce005.gif" alt="Smiley" border="0" /></a>
Rashad looked really good in his last fight and he does seem really confident that he can beat Jones. If Jones retains his title I can see Rashad beating Jones setting up Evans vs. Machida 2. I wouldn't mind seeing Rashad do the stanky leg again.
This is Bones' first title defense, so he's going to be very nervous stepping in to the Octagon with a savage KO artist of Quinton's caliber. Like I said, he's never eaten a real shot and been forced to rebound. If Rampage gets to his chin early and often, Bones is going to sleep.
Yet you're fine with Rampage? I may be wrong but I don't recall Bones mocking opponents in the lead-up to his fights. (Granted some of it by Rampage could be considered promotion)
I'm not sure what it is, but following his tweets and watching his interviews, he just seems fake... but that's just me. and no, I don't have a problem with pre-fight trash talk.
To each.... I follow Bones on twitter as well and have no sense of him being fake on it, in interviews or while being filmed for various behind the scenes/fight lead-up specials. I'll admit Rampage is funny but sometimes he takes it too far.
I agree. I used to like the guy a lot. He seemed humble. But now that he's the champ, he's showing signs of becoming a major prima donna. Here's one of his recent little antics I found to be just ridiculous: http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2011/7/15/2277363/ufc-champion-jon-jones-title-belt
I agree Rampage is over the top sometimes and he's not the nicest to fans in person.. as opposed to Jones I heard he's really cool in person and will take pictures etc. I don't know exactly what it is either but I see where sew is coming from when he said Jones seems fake. It's like he's almost pretending to be this guy that he isn't. He's got a quiet arrogance to him and comes off as being kind of pompous. I think it boils down to him not being genuine. The thing with Rampage is that he's a dick and he'll be the first one to admit it. He is who he is.
As much as I like rampage, he'll lose. Rampage doesn't throw any leg kicks which makes his range limited and bones can just pick him a part from a distance with his really long limbs. To me rampage's striking is too one dimensional especially against bones it will be apparent. Rampage will always have to lurch foward to strike and he'll end up getting caught.
Smiley aside, this is a very legitimate point. Hopefully, the fight will be entertaining, but Rampage's lack of arsenal probably will hamper him greatly.
Some people are starting to get 'Tyson Syndrome' with Rampage -- he's not devastating phenom he was 10 years ago.
Both fighters did some jawing when Rogan interviewed them during Saturday's event so I'm sure if they're both going to be on the same set and couch with Kimmel tonight then they might square up.
Rampage paying out 3.75 on your money, might worth it to pull for the upset, maybe he catches bones on the button.
