Our defense isn't yet dominant but it certainly fits the "bend but don't break" mold thus far. The biggest difference is having playmakers who on any given play can make something big happen. Today it was Joseph with the int, Watt with the blocked FG and pass to end the game, Barwin and Smith with timely sacks, Cushing with a couple unexpected tackles in space. Next week? Maybe it'll be Mario and Demeco, or any of the aforementioned guys. It's a great feeling to have, when last year our only playmakers were Mario, Smith, and Demeco before he got hurt.
Absolutely way too early to tell. It's a great sign, though, when our Achilles' heel for so long is being brought up for this discussion. The defense should have nowhere to go but up, and I'm fairly certain it will be tested for all its worth this coming Sunday.
I think this team is where it needs to be. I don't expect them to be perfect starting off but I think we're starting to see a different team. Just look at the first two games last year and compare them to this year. Last year we would have lost yesterday's game in a heart beat. This team should get better on the defensive end as the year progresses. As for the offense, there are some red flags, but I will give them credit for sticking to their game plan. I love Ben Tate, and the guy is a straight beast but there is a difference between him and Foster. Foster can straight up fly and Tate knows how to slow the game down by eating up the clock. If Foster can get healthy, I can't imagine to many teams being able to stop our run. Last year we either scored to quickly or to late. I'm starting to see where we're managing that clock better. My biggest concern is not having another WR. I know we have TE's but I still think they need a second threat at WR. Walters is great but I think they need to focus on that.
The D-Line is nasty. There are still concerns with the secondary. On the flipside, we saw the offense struggle to shake its habit of going limp. For sure, the D carried the team yesterday to a win. But it's beyond premature to start wondering if they're better than the offense. Nearly as bad as the contingent declaring Tate better than Foster.

If not for Tom Brady, the Patriots are 0-2 and would be in last place in the division. Wade is part of the team...a lot of the success of the team should be attributed to him. Isn't that the whole point of hiring good coaches, so they can help you win games?
I think it's mostly because we did a better job of putting points on the board. Gotta do that to give yourself a chance to win.
lol...dont' bother with him. early in the Texans/Dolphins thread, he predicted the Texans to go 11-5 but stated "so what" because they are going to play inferior teams. then, after the Texans won he predicted 9-7 but he does this for a living, so trust him.
3/4 of the way through the season the defense IMO WILL be better than the offense ........ or at least as good. While we're giving up yards now, this will get ironed out...... and we're already creating turnovers. That ratio is going to get better and better. The sky is the limit .......When it comes together our defense will control games on a consistent basis.
Yeah, but what if we didn't? We wouldn't have won the game. True, the Dolphins didn't drop 30 points on us -- but they could have if they had scored more points. And that concerns me.

Too early. If Miami had hit those two field goals, the final score would have been ... 23 to 19. The play on both sides of the ball in the fourth quarter won the game for the Texans. I will say that it was nice for a change to see the defense make plays in the fourth quarter.
