that wasn't no bs weight penalty, cause if i remember correctly mayweather was over weight when he fought the next opponent after the talk break down. Floyd only fight people he can dominate, i am bore after watching 2 rounds of floyd's fight, the fight always too one sided and not really a fight but a display of his skills, that we all know he has.

I wonder how you would feel if Ortiz was on the other end and dropped Mayweather with that cheap knockdown. You'd be crying like how people are doing now. Riiight?

Serious question for Mayweather fans, are you satisfied with how we won? Would it be considered a great win? Impressive? I thought it was a cheap victory. This wasn't like a classic Mayweather counter knockout ala Ricky Hatton, this was basically a free shot on somebody who was not ready. I can't say it was impressive.

mayweather don't care about legacy or sportmanshhp, from what i can gather he imply that if you fight dirty he will crush you with a dirtier move. It is too bad that this is his attitude cause he should continue to beat victor with pure skills and that would have been more impressive. He could have been one of the great but his attitude and the mentality of protecting his perfect win record at all cost hinder him from becoming something special.

Someone with tech skills needs to mix these two together. Cut Merchant saying Mayweather's name and the part about him kicking his ass and mix with the chorus of the Daz song. Floyd . . . you ain't ****!

What are you guys talking about??? All the old timers were dirty: Jack Johnson, Jack Demspey, Sandy Saddler, Willie Pep, Henry Armstrong, Archie Moore, Fritzie Zivic, Rocky Marciano, Muhammad Ali. Way worse than this. Biting, breaking arms, separating shoulders, elbowing, low blowing, kidney punching, stepping on toes, thumbing the eye. This generation of fans is just soft.

"The rules, for example, say the fighters must touch gloves before the bout and at the start of the final round. Guys who touch gloves in between are going out of their way for trouble. I fought Vinnie Vines in '43 in Madison Square Garden. In the first round we got tangled up in a clinch and when he stepped out of the clinch he extended his gloves to me, I reached out and hit him a right hand on the chin. Knocked him out. That's boxing. The winners make money. The losers make excuses."

Something's wrong w/ Victor Ortiz. I cut him slack after the Maidana bout, but I'm now convinced that he has issues between the ears. From a deliberate headbutt to grinning post-fight after being demolished w/ a left-right while failing to comply w/ a basic principle of the sport... unreal.

The only difference is that Mayweather was actually leading in the score cards.... It's not like he was down in points and had to desperately find a way to get back into the fight...

I noted as much earlier. The dude is missing some sort of drive or hunger. As long as the checks come in, he's all good. I don't think he aspires to be the best in his weight class. I'm thinking the dude just wants to be considered a good fighter, one of the top out there to fight, and have his checks keep coming in.

We've heard you the 50 other times you've posted the same stuff. We've seen and read your posts so no need to keep re-iterating that. You left out Evander Holyfield and his use of his big nogging to his advantage.

I fail to see how a dislike for the manner of Mayweather's win means that this generation of fans are soft. Feel free to elaborate.

I'm saying what he did in the context of boxing history isn't really that bad and at one time was commonplace. But very few people fight dirty anymore, so we are sensitive to it when we see it. Holyfield was the head butt king how could I forget. And Hopkins is the dirtiest boxer alive.

Ortiz and those complaining about a lack of class are both p***y'z...

Being classy is important in a lot of places... But a boxing ring ain't one of them.

    Grow a sack.

No. If you're going to play games with words and make a semantic distinction, get the terms right and the concepts straight.

What Mayweather did was "legal" but definitely under no definition "fair." The round had started so his cheapshot wasn't something that can be penalized in scoring, but the ref clearly hadn't given any indication to fight, in fact he was looking at the timekeeper, he wasn't even looking at the fight. At what point in a fight does a ref not keep his eyes on the fight. It's a basic rule just as protect yourself at all times.

You are right though that it was "cheap."

The entire sequence from start to finish was questionable. The headbutt was a POS move. But one that was penalized and paid for. That cheap shot from a fighter winning the bout and who had just been awarded a penalty is strange to the point of it being suspicious.

For all the black dudes and other Mayweather fans emo and butthurt over this it's simple. No one wants to waste their time with something as senseless, stupid and utterly pointless as this. It's like watching some homeless guy **** in the street. Wayweather took a big dump all over boxing with that pointless and ignorant act. It's like like **** you Ortiz, **** you ref and scoring system, **** you HBO and Larry Merchant, and **** you boxing fans. For being stupid enough to pay me and watch this bout you can get the fat middle finger and come down here to the sewer where I live my life every day.

No one gives a **** about Mayweather and whatever mental issues/inferiority or rage complexes he has outside the ring. But last night he let that crap get into his actual boxing and it's like watching a monkey throw feces. It's just unpleasant to watch a human being with such a low threshold of personal dignity and composure. That's what people are posting about.

Why say that? Something tells me that this is your true quarrel, along with everyone else that's 'butthurt' about the fight. You say that no one cares about Mayweather but your six paragraph post speaks to the contrary.
