Man, it must be a cold day in Hell. I never thought I'd see so many people complain about two punches to the face being "dirty" during a freaking boxing match.

The punches were legal. Ortiz is an idiot. That's really all there is to it.

My view was Ortiz made a mistake with the headbutt and he knew it quickly. Than became real uncomfortable/nervous and didn't know how to react to the situation and than he just DID NOT react...

Now this was the first fight I've seen in probably 10 years and probably cant count on one hand on how many fights i watched in my life time but that's what I gathered......

And Mayweather was a punk the old man just asked the questions that everybody watching the fight was wondering....

Yeah if it was the other way around most people probably would be cheering that Mayweather got knocked out.

This reaction is expected though a lot of people dislike him.

What is Mayweather supposed to do?? Make out with Ortiz and then they can start fighting again? He should have been ready to fight and he let his guard down.

Nobody's saying it's illegal but you shouldn't do that and say you're the best.

Commentators said a few times during the fight that Ortiz was grinning. He was probably thinking about diving like this:

Whether they were legal in the strictest sense or not, the only way Mayweather gets those shots were by being the low character guy that we know he is.

What little respect anybody has for the guy probably went out the window for his "legal" shots. But that's who Mayweather is, as long as he keeps that unblemished record intact.

In the history of sports, I don't think I've ever witnessed a more low character, by any means necessary, athletic. Maybe Bill Romanowski?

I think the Mark Jackson quote to use is "You're better than that."

I thought the ref was at fault, after the first punch Ortiz looked at the ref as to say wtf, but the ref was saying something to the judges......he should have cleared things with the judges then started the fight again.....

At first I was thinking it was pretty much a legal cheap shot from Floyd, but one that was completely warranted because Ortiz deserved to get popped like that because of that ridiculous headbutt. I felt no sympathy for Ortiz but thought Floyd prolly shouldn't have thrown those punches.

But after watching the replays again, Im not sure Mayweather did anything wrong at all. The ref had called timeout and Ortiz went up to Mayweather and apologized, Floyd acknowledged him, then the ref tells them to fight. There was no reason for Ortiz to come up for ANOTHER hug/apology/kiss thing and really, Mayweather coulda just hit him then, but instead still did the hug thing and stepped back a bit then fought like he was supposed to. My guess is that Ortiz was all hyped up after all of that and didn't realize that the ref had called time in, but he should have been defending himself. When the fight is going on, you're expected to fight, you don't have to wait for the other guy to start protecting himself.

Regardless, if you throw a crazy headbutt in the middle of an entertaining good, clean fight, then you deserve to get KTFO.

    Note to self:

If I ever end up head butting a guy during a boxing match, I should just keep apologizing and hugging him the rest of the match. That way he can't punch me anymore, otherwise everyone will complain about it and call him a jerk.
