If Ortiz had a chance of winning, it was in the first 4 rounds. If it went beyond that, Mayweather would have won easily.

And by Round 4, Floyd kept getting it in.

So no, Ortiz had zero chance tonight. And he will have zero chance in a rematch.

But Ortiz is set with the pay-day. He clearly wasn't upset by the result. Why are you guys upset? The guy is smiling all the way to the bank.

The headbutt was pretty nasty, to say Floyd's antics were 'unintentional'?

    Your bias is clear.

That was straight WWE right there.

I feel sorry for anyone who waisted 50 bucks on this crap.

If you want to watch real WWE, just tune in tomorrow for Night of Champions. At least that's more entertaining than Gayweather suckerpunching Ortiz and having his ass handed to him by 70 year old Merchant post fight.

I feel that right now any boxing match without the name "Mayweather" is equivalent to an all class quality superfight.

What a big blow to boxing.

Both guys were dirty, only difference was Money made sure he's did the job...always keep your hands up son. That said, Pac-Man won't make that same mistake if they ever fight.

Post-fight interview was GOLD...Money went MEGA-heel and Merchant super face.

I'm not mad about anything. I'm just calling you out for calling Larry Merchant a racist. That makes you a simpleton. There's no questioning Mayweather's talent. He just let an old man get under his skin and it's funny.

Yeah, the blatant headbutt was disgusting and further exposed his immaturity, but his post-fight behavior was stunning.

I think that was the idea. A rematch with Ortiz means he can go another year and half with out a fight, then fight Ortiz again, then another year an a half to actually fight manny. :p

I usually can't stand Larry Merchant but yeah, I'm not going to call him racist because HE put Floyd in his place.
Larry just said what a *****load of boxing fans around the world want to say to Floyd. (IMO)

i didn't mean that. meant that he didn't do it as a cheap shot. did it because he saw an opportunity to get a clean punch in.

and i didn't really have a dog in the fight. wouldnt have minded seeing may lose, but at the end of day, wanted him to win to keep alive the buzz of a mayweather/pac fight.

On the relpay, it is clear that Victor was trying to touch up gloves and it was also clear that Mayweather had no intention of touching gloves up. Cortez looks away and Mayweather, who still never touched up gloves, bam bam. Cortez still isn't looking. That's it, it's over. Terrible. I've never seen anything like this.

The ***** should we care if he's smiling all the way to the bank. Did someone tell you cats on here were getting a cut of those millions????

Still a little ridiculous to say he had no chance but as you said(I'll just tack on an extra round), If Ortiz didn't do more damage by the 5th, it would have been damn near impossible to stop Floyd as the fight went on.

    Floyd is still 42-0.

God is this the first time you watch boxing? Do you know Ortiz's or Floyd's history and how they win their matches? Ortiz had very LITTLE chance of winning this match by round 4.

But that's where you are wrong. This just makes it even more unlikely that he'll fight Manny. Floyd is obsessed with his undefeated record, and won't risk it by fighting someone that could actually pose a threat. A loss on his record would make it more likely of that fight actually happening.

It's just bizarre. The ref is looking away and Mayweather lands the first punch which is well within the refs peripheral vision and the guy never turns his head to see what's going on. Never turns his head to see the now resumed fight he's supposed to be refereeing. He just continues to look away until Ortiz hits the mat.

A "clean" cheap shot punch in. Yes.
Fair play to him it was legal but as long as we know it was classless. Especially for a "champ" like Floyd.

EVERYONE knew the longer the fight went on, the odds Ortiz would win diminished considerably so there was ZERO need for that from him.

you may be right, but i'd give less of a **** about the fight if mayweather didn't go into it undefeated.
