I think the offense looks much much better without GG. All of the fans saw it last year, why did it take the coaches this long to see it? Texas looks much better on both sides of the ball, but also UCLA looked awful and their QB threw the game away in the first half. I wouldn't read too much into this win. UCLA was sloppy and just an awful team. Credit Texas defense to some of that - but I'd say it's not a game where you can gauge where Texas is as a team.
We have the defense, the runing backs, the wide receivers and perhaps a quarterback. Look out A and M and OSU, maybe Ou, too. Well, we might need Case to pray some more. If we beat OU with Case's tipped interceptions going for completions, maybe I'll start trying to pray, too.
It was a great atmosphere at the Rose Bowl. Tailgaters were out but UCLA fans are not so hardcore as SC fans were. Maybe it's cuz UCLA is just not that into their football as much as basketball. A large UT contingent showed up. Very hot day but great to see Texas finally get revenge. UCLA had won the last three match ups. I was at the game back in '98 (66-3 pounding) so being at this weekends game felt like redemption. I wished they went for two on the last play to make it a nice 50. HOOKEM!
From what I've heard about UCLA, it's more because they have to drive 1-1/2 hours for a home game. It's hard for the average student to even get there. That, and sucking for a long time will not exactly do wonders for your support.
They got the better LA stadium, but the transit is a b****. In houston, it would be like living near the dome, and having to travel to bush airport to see a game. Combined with a lousy program and an apathetic fan base.
Isn't UCLA primarily a communter school? While SC is more of a normal live on campus type of university? DD
No. The area around UCLA (Westwood) makes for one of the best (if not, the best) college towns in the country.

lol, that's pretty funny. I know it's wrong to cheer injury, but deep down, Texas fans are pretty damn happy.
I'm a longhorn fan and i'm not happy about it. He has already lost the job, we have a new QB, maybe if he was still starting i would be a little happy, but not now. I've never had any ill will towards him, he just didn't get the job done. This might be good for him, maybe he can transfer and write this year off as a medical redshirt. Maybe at a lower level school he can have some success.
