but it was nice of him to have his music ridiculously loud so you could here it over other bands playing.
Technically, yes. But they've relaxed as the rain was fairly steady all day. Not a mud pit at all. It was actually kind of nice. Kept it cool but never rained enough to make it uncomfortable. Pretty good stuff through 2 days. Delta Spirit on Friday just blew the doors off, for me anyway. By far the best I've seen to this point. Stevie was good last night, though the sound kind of sucked and we weren't that far back. It was incredibly crowded over there. Groogrux was probably 20 yards behind me and I don't think I could have gotten anywhere near him.
lots of complaints about sound during stevies set. this is nothing new - its not that the sound is "bad", but that it gets so crowded for the headliners that unless you are no further than 50 yards or so behind the soundboard its going to sound very weak. there is so much going on during the day that people not gathering en masse at one stage, but for a stadium-level headliner everyone in the park is going to be there and if you dont get there 1/2 hour early you are going to get s*** sound. tom petty was a s*** show for me b/c i was probably standing closer the vendor market than the stage. at that far back you feel more like a spectator than an audience member. dylan was similar, but i was by myself so i worked my way up to right next to the soundboard and it ended up being one of the best sets ive seen there. bjork too - my friends were lame and content to camp behind the soundboard so i went off by myself and got about 75' from the stage - if that wasnt the single best set i ever saw at acl it is definitely top 3 - my friends who stayed back were so unimpressed they took off early and they were bigger bjork fans than me! austin american statesman has good coverage/reviews/pics... http://www.statesman.com/ http://galleries.austin360.com/gallery/austin-city-limits-2011-saturday/#240796# says this kid is passed out, but he looks dead to me. pic #72.
Probably just wanted to enjoy the show. Saw him on the the side when Fitz and the Tantrums were playing. Even took a picture. Post it later. **** freaked me out. I noticed people start to look at the side and I thought it was a fight. Looked right and screamed HOLY SH** IT'S BATMAN.
I may be the only one here who cares, but good news for those of us that didn't get to go to this, My Morning Jacket coming with Delta Spirit to Dallas on December 7th and Houston on December 8th.
It's on the Youtube main page. On the top. (I can't link it b/c my work terminal disables copy and paste functions.) Fleet Foxes just ended though.
