I'd say no especially because Morey hasn't been allowed to make any off-season magic happen. If we go in with a shortened season, a new coach, and the team we have now, not a chance.
If we stay with the team we have and Thabeet is able to play 12-15 minutes a game, we will make a deep playoff run.
Serious? Unless Thabeet is quietly making some real improvements to his game and added some muscle, he's not the answer. For every blocked shot he gets, he gives up 4 points worth of free throws and brings the opposition closer to the penalty. He has less offensive game than Hayes. I have long term faith in him, but not this season. And Adelman, a proven winner year after year after year is gone. McHale has had some success in his brief coaching career with a much worse team. I think he'll be alright, but I fully expect a slow start to the season. And now way we make 50 wins, the minimum to make the playoffs this year IF there are 82 games. I do admire your optimism. I hope, but after season the last 2 seasons, I'm on the realist side.
Thabeet is trash. If you're team has him playing even 5 mpg, you're screwed. We will still be the 9th seed, even if everyone is healthy. We need that star either through trade or develop one. Hope Morris turns out to be that guy because he's the only one with that potential.
