So far have been unsuccessful trying to get it on either of my desktops... Do you HAVE to use a virtualbox to install this sucker?

No, you don't. I just didn't feel like creating an extra partition since I use Virtualbox regularly for use with Linux distro's

You should be able to dual boot WIN7 AND WIN8 though. What kind of issues are you encountering?

    You tried re-downloading the .ISO?
I just tried to boot into it from CD and it worked fine

I think this sums up all the hate on this OS. I won't go any further than that...

I totally agreed. This is the type of interface functionality that I want. This is the platform that will be build upon and redefine. People might hate that look of Metro but how fast people forget what people did with their Desktop with Rainmeter. Check rainmeter and see what I mean. I'm pretty sure when Windows 8 release we will see some cool looking Metro UI created by the USERS.

I'm posting this on IE10 using a copy of Win8 running on VMware Workstation. I really think I'm going to have to get this thing on a tablet or touchscreen before I can comment too much. It's pretty cool, but using the new UI took a bit of getting used to. All-in-all, not bad so far, but I can see some people being confused initially.

how's IE10 when running in Vmware? it is smooth as hell for me in Virtualbox, and I mean like Google Chrome smooth.

I finally figured out how to disable the tiles and go to a normal start menu but i re-enabled it to try and get used to it. I agree with your statement though, I think I might like this more on a touch screen or tablet of some sort.

I didn't notice any problems with it in the VMWare session, but I just messed with it for about 10-20 minutes. It was pretty fast. I gave the VM something like 8 gigs, though, and I know it doesn't need that much.

The thing I could not figure out was "how the heck do you shut down?!" LOL. I eventually googled the answer to that. :)

I picked up the iso this morning. Won't get to try it out until at least tonight when I get home and can load it on a spare partition.

Looking forward to loading it at home tonight. I found out today we'll also be able to use it on our work machines starting tomorrow, so that will be nice to use it on the job as well.

I am currently posting from a grand-core titanium tablet system running Windows 282 v2.9xtfg with multi giga-hexnet support. I am also posting from the future.

Skydrive: give me a break. A remote harddrive, HOW REVOLUTIONARY. Yet another iteration of cloud computing and moving your harddrive to the web.

If you are into ipads and other mobile devices, the space you can save by not having a big memory chip in your phone, I suppose makes this useful. But I'm not into that, personally.

True in a way that I find cloud computing is useless for me and many other people right now. If the wifi bandwidth was fast and free all around than it would be useful. But at the moment it useless for me.
