Come on. I think it means exactly what it implies. First Sheridan, now Mason? Two different sources in one week?
NBA Lockout: Union to close deal soon?? Caught this article fellas.. may be some good news!! http://www.unathleticmag.com/2011/0...nion-vp-roger-mason-tweets-deal-may-be-close/ "Union VP Roger Mason “accidentally” tweeted some good news for NBA fans around the country. After a successful meeting on Wednesdy, Mason posted this on twitter…." The funny thing is; Mason deleted the Tweet minutes later and began claiming that he was hacked. All signs seem to point to the fact that things are going well in the negotiations and that a season could be in the cards for the NBA. The two groups are scheduled to meet again today. The quicker the resolution, the quicker the mass exodus for foreign leagues will stop. If I was a betting man, I’d bet the NBA gets it done soon.
Did anyone hear what Roger Mason said? It's unconfirmed, as he deleted the tweet. If only I could get that information somewhere.
They need to stop using text and start using pictures. For example: - get a sticky note - write your message on it - take a picture of you holding it - "tweet" the picture
Some people actually do get hacked, but in this case I believe, he was trying to send a private msg, realized he was about to post it and accidentally sent it trying to erase it.
Looks more and more like that he meant, "Looks like the entire season's going to be missed due to the lockout."
There is nothing right now that would please me more than knowing the date and time when I'll be watching the first preseason Houston Rockets game. No, how u?
Don't trust any tweets or comments to sports journalists about how the latest negotiations went. They are calculated to affect public perception, not to give you an honest accounting of the negotiation. Mason's accidental tweet is probably the only true statement we ever got, and even that one was made out to be more than it probably was. Probably the union has to be more pessimistic in tweets to offset the damage done by Mason's mistake. Also, the league might have been more aggressive in talks after the sign of weakness. But, I think more important is that the league will want to be pessimistic in their PR as well to manage expectations. They don't want fans thinking this is going to be done tomorrow and be doubly annoyed and confused when the lockout is still here a month from now. I think pessimism from both sides was as inevitable as the setting sun, given Mason's tweet.
lock outs are just used as publicity stunts to get us all amped about when the season will actually start.
