Might be because of his end game celebrations. Didn't see what he did today, but he usually does a King Kong type deal when he wins. He can be cocky when he keeps handing the 2 best players in Tennis their asses.
I agree, Nadal just seems mentally defeated when he plays novak. He is relentless and this is rare for him to lose the match psychologically, but novaks winners give him a helpless look at time. I've just read Rafa's book so am rooting for him to figure this out, that said, you have commend Novak for what he has done this year.
Lol federer beat him at the French and had two match points while serving for the match the other day. Far from "handing them their asses". With Nadal, you have a point there.
It's hard not to root for Nadal, seems like such a good dude. BUT, I don't want him to catch Federer in majors so I was pulling for Novak today. I think early in his career, he came off as way more of a cocky a-hole than he does now. He lets his play do the talking and it's clearly changed his game.
I don't see Novak as particularly cocky. I think it's just easy for tennis players to look cocky. It's an individual sport, so there are no team celebrations. Whereas football has team end zone celebrations and baseball has high fives in the dugout, tennis players can only celebrate by themselves.
Same here. I'm happy with Djokovic winning. It is funny, I really didn't see Nadal winning this game, but if Federer did make one of the match points I think Nadal would probably have beaten him. Nadal just gets in the head of Federer (and Djokovic gets in the head of Nadal).
