i wonder where are all the people that defended those two scrum bag in the other thread. If we apply the same logic that they used in the other thread to this one those two underage boys should only be in jail for a months top and do like 300 hrs of communities service.

Except for most of the time it's just a civil violation, not a crime, so you're kind of 100% wrong, though I can condescendingly explain the difference between the two if you'd like.

You say I play the race "card" by calling out illegal, but then you played the race deck.

 

That would be using the technical definition of crime. Since I was using the more common definition -- crime - illegal act: an action prohibited by law or a failure to act as required by law -- the mistake was actually yours in your interpretation of my writing.

 

I don't think rape deserves a death penalty. As horrible as it is.
Murderers should be the only criminals that death should be doled out to.

 

And that is the reason why the death penalty is so controversial. There is no criteria that is "set in stone" for sending people to their deaths. You could give someone the death penalty that didn't deserve it, and you could pardon someone that definitely deserved it. Not only that, but one could argue that the death penalty lets criminals get off easy. What's worse: life in prison / torture or a quick and painless death?

This thread does not read like a thread condemning rape. It's about legal status and who committed the act. I think everyone here agrees that rape is a monstrous thing that should be punished....no one is "debating" that.

Question is, why does it matter that illegals committed this crime? Does it make the crime less heinous? Does it mean that illegals are more likely to commit crimes...or just that they are capable of it like anyone else?

Is your argument that if we cut down on illegal immigrants, we'll have less rape since we'll have less people living in the country?

For the record, I think if the US really wanted to secure the Mexican border more, they really COULD. I think the US COULD dis-incentivize more illegals from coming over by lessening benefits. Though if drug cartel violence won't lead to any reforms, unfortunately it just might take "minutemen" action putting THEMSELVES at risk for them to take notice.

so what was the purpose of starting this thread. are you going to start a thread on every rape, or are we supposed to feel sorry for YOU because this happened where you grew up or are just pointing out they were illegal?
