OK. so I was a KTRU DJ for 4 years. but you dudes are much better than me, for new music. calling out Manny Rameriz. My bar below my house caters to americans. that means us. they asked me for better music. Currently they use Nashville's rock station called "Nashville county country " I think we can do better... Who wants to be a dj in germany! It's simple. Give me your playlist and they will play it.
Swabia. but that doesn't really matter. The owner of the bar wants "american" music...and I told him the Nashville music he is playing it not correct. He wants american DJs to give him a playlist. very simple. who wants to do it.
Just get a bunch of the most popular mid-'90s to mid-'00s 2000s stuff that they might not have recently heard since contemporary pop music is distributed and performed globally. And get the geographical rap songs: Atlanta, Miami, New York and California. They might cotton to that genre a bit more than expected since I imagine black American culture might aways seem a bit novel due to the demographics over there (as opposed to France or UK) and since rap is pool and frat party music (based on television).
I think this playlist fits the bill: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pa14VNsdSYM&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PLC28FA69F4C16F130
hp, I would recommend Rammstein but they are already a German band and you were asked to give them American music. Can't go wrong with the big 4 of grunge in Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains. Take the albums "Nevermind", "Ten", "Badmotorfinger", and "Facelift" and just play those 4 albums in their entirety and your problem is solved.
I was gonna say something similar. Older but safer recognizable pop songs. Not too old or it'll be out of style, not TOO current either. Not sure how people will take to the Nicki Minaj/Katy Perry/Flo Rida stuff. Like THIS stuff http://www.yenra.com/now-thats-what-i-call-music-volume-11/
Yeah, I'd even go off the Youtube ALL TIME Most Viewed list for the hits. http://www.youtube.com/charts/videos_views?t=a&p=1 All the specific Rihanna - [Cheers (Drink To That!)], Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga & Black Eyed Pea hits
How old is the typical age group frequenting the bar? crispee, how are you doing in Swabia? It's probably one of the places I would least recommend for expats...well, after certain regions in East Germany where people are less than welcoming to foreigners...

all ages. it's a "sports bar" called "The Sports Inn." they even have a picture of a Houston Rockets player, and honestly, I don't know who it is. Just a head shot, no number. I'm going to have to look at it closer and post a picture. Stuttgart is alright. And I really like Tubingen. I might end up living in Tubingen. I suppose I don't know what I'm missing in other regions. I haven't traveled within Germany, yet. The great thing about Germany is it is centrally located and you can go anywhere in Europe for nothing. No wonder Germans travel so much. example, I have a $25 plane ticket to Barcelona to see Messi! btw: the Swabians don't really care what other Germans think of them.
