Only if they play as poorly the rest of the year - are you forgetting they dirt-stomped these same Colts last year and promptly went ... 5-10 the rest of the way?

Conference games and especially division games are *always* important so it's definitely a big game, regardless of the Manning circumstance. But a loss is just a loss if its a temporary road bump in an otherwise great season.

Having said that, great googlymoogly is this town going to MELT if they lose tomorrow. (Only slightly less so if they win on a last-second FG.........)

You can always count on Ric to cover all his bases with BS. Nicely done.

Sorry; not going to join the sky-is-falling crowd if they lose week 1. (Just as no one should have joined the Super-Bowl-or-bust crowd after they won week 1 last year.) They shouldn't lose and I'll be pissed to holy hell if they do. But if they finish 11-5, in the playoffs, etc. - I will be part of a large contingent of very happy people who will have forgotten what happened in week 1.

I want them to win and cover the -8.5 spread. I'm in the group that thinks we're a better team even with Manning playing, with him out and they're run game being pitiful, there's no doubt we shouldn't win this game by 14+ points.

Better passing, better run game, better all around D (run D is still suspect) better special teams.

The thing that got me excited last year was that both lines looked dominant in the first game against the Colts. Unfortunately that didn't last to the 2nd game.

I'm not going to get too up or too down after just one game this year - especially with the Colts missing the Peyton.

I'm worried about pass rush, rush defense, and the secondary. Offense should be able to put points up and hoping that Tate gets enough carries to win backup job.

Looking forward to seeing Tate run against a 1st string regular-season defense, was very impressed with him in the preseason.
