People are so entrenched into the idea of the upcoming rapture or end of the word. (I personally don't believe in that nonsense) but most of their theories all end up being attributed to natural disasters. Such as a super-quake, super-volcano, super-storm. Etc.

Isn't the formation and spread of a super-virus/bacteria more believable? If bacteria and viruses evolve to combat against antibiotics and vaccines; how long until bacteria/viruses begin to outpace us and kill us all?

    Just a thought.

I know a common doomsday scenario that people talk about is another plague, but things have changed so much it's unlikely that some of the viruses/bacteria that spread in the past would do so as effectively. We know so much more about health now. That doesn't mean we are immune, but people are generally much better about washing their hands, have access to clean water, stay away from sick people, better sanitation in medical facilities, etc. While a virus could still spread, it's unlikely it could spread as effectively and deadly as they did in the past.

How long until the season starts?

A nuclear war will wipe us out before any super disaster or virus hits.

    Nah.

the Kohn Kanzius research will result in a solution that will meet with success.

First, it will eliminate pancreatic and liver cancer.
Then, it will be adapted to eliminate breast cancer.
Then, it will be adapted to eliminate all other forms of cancer.
Then, it will be adapted to eliminate HIV.
From there, it will be adapted to eliminate all other major life-threatening virii.

The John Kanzius solution is a non-medicinal method that modifies gold nano-particles such that they attach themselves to specific cells (like cancer cells). Then the patient's entire body is exposed to radio waves. Those radio waves are harmless to the human body, but they heat up the gold particles to a temperature that burns off the cells that they're attached to. It's immediate. It's non-invasive. It has no collateral damage. It has no side effects. It's outpatient. It's cheap. Virii can't adapt to it.

It is currently in large-animal testing. So far, it's been 100% successful.

it reanimates the dead. they're not quite as they used to be, though. they seem to be incessantly hungry and more aggressive. more research is needed.

There may or may not be a super virus that wipes us all out. One thing for sure, virus/ diseases have/ will kill a lot more human than wars, nuclear or otherwise, asteroids, natural disasters ...
