This is a short blurb from ESPN's NBA rankings they are currently doing. This particular one features P-Pat: Certainly looking forward to seeing how he progresses over the next few years...
Undersized? You have GOT to be kidding. Patrick Patterson is f'ing massive on the court. Other commentators consistently remark on how "Karl Malone" esque he looks... Have you seen the guy live? He is freaking ripped and huge... A legitimate 6-9 and built like Thor...
Pretty bullish on this kid, guy already has a steady outside jumper and actually plays defense. His next step would be to develop a nice post-game, add that to his outside shot and we might have an improved version of Scola.
Why is his picture the one where he got dunked on by Lebron? It doesn't show but they could have found a better picture.
He's ranked below Jordan Hill, Ben Wallace, Jason Maxiell, Ryan Gomes, Jeff Foster... the list goes on. So so stupid.
Big fan of that kid. Can't wait to see if Morris is just as good. Love me some Rockets scouting department.
I don't read Insider so I don't understand, based on what was posted here, how they ranked these players. I imagine it's just a production ranking rather than efficiency ranking, so playing time moves you up (which would hurt Patterson). But when you're ranked #260, it means on average that every team in the NBA has a full rotation (8-9 guys) ahead of you. Unless you're Hasheem Thabeet, there's nowhere to go but up -- I would certainly expect him to rise up the rankings if that's his current station.
