Seriously, I couldn't make it through either video. The band isn't tight, her vocals are average until she tries to speed up and then falls off the cliff.

Raw live footage of the 5 (slow beginning but kick into song around 2 1/2 minutes):

I liked "come together" better that the Jackson medley, I actually thought the background vocals was going to get them an X from Piers.

I hope they do another Beatles song "I saw her standing there" for the finale but my heart goes with Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. for the win.

I agree the background vocals were not good on the jackson meledy. It's like they weren't even mic'd up.

Landau is really cool though. I was surprised at all the interesting acts they do have on that show because I just happened to watch it last night.

I don't normally watch stuff like this, but the wife does and she called me into see this guy with the dreads that sounds like Sinatra. He is really good and should win this easily. His style of music fits right in with what I would expect from a casino show. His only competition is the group with the programmable lighting, that's pretty impressive as well.

the kid band is pretty good for what they are, give em a few more years and they might be worth giving a recording deal. The guys in the band seem to be good musicians, not sure if the girl is what they need as a frontman.

    Is this a serious question?

If a talent like the Jackson 5 were to be discovered on that show, not only would they win in blowout fashion - the show would probably be one of the highest rated shows on TV.

Michael Jackson was more talented than any of the acts I've ever seen on these types of shows.

His talents, stage presence, and success were already started before he hooked up with Quincy Jones. He had hits before he met Jones. Did Jones take him to another level? Hell yeah, but Michael was beyond talented long before Quincy.

As for the kids singing, I'm not going to hate on them, but.... there was something about groups like the Jackson 5 that's different than most other "next Jackson 5's". They gave you the impression they'd been doing it for 20 years and the music/talent moved you. It never seemed like they were trying to be grown up or trying to sound adult. They were just that good as musicians, singers, dancers - they were all-around entertainers as a group.

I'm not hating on people today, but if I posted that on this board and if nobody knew who they were, I'd be ridiculed mercilessly by saying they were if a good band.

This kids in Poplyfe have a lot of talent and a new (for this day and age) sound. I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't huge in a few years.

It reached #3 on the R&B charts when it came out. Somebody thought they were good back then... and now. :)

Poplyfe... hmm... I wonder if they'll even eclipse the Osmonds? Only time will tell, but there have been a ton of "wannabe Jacksons" groups over the past decades.

Stating that this band is the next Jackson 5 implies that the little girl is the next MJ.

    B-tch Please!

Yeah and none of those people were on this board.

Listen, I'm not trying to argue this to death. I am not THAT committed to poplyfe to argue anyone down over them.

So what I am saying is don't take what I am about to say as an argument for poplyfe.

All I am saying is #3 on the R&B charts isn't saying a whole lot for that song. By then, the jackson's could have sung the phone book and it would have been in the top 3 of the R&B charts. That song was atrocious is basically want I am saying.

Yeah, but all we're saying is millions disagree with you... back then... and now. :) The video is cheesy now, but that song is still good. FYI, I think Hanson was more talented than what I've seen out of Poplyfe. I think those kids got a bad rap. But that's just me...
