I'd still rather have Mike Thomas than any of those 3 But either way, seems like a 10 team league with 2 starting WR's (or 3 + a short bench) if Steve Smith and MSW are available on the wire? And if so, I'd hold on to Thomas anyway and see what happens, b/c it seems like you'll have plenty of available options on your wire
Maclin Plaxico needs to prove himself before I'd consider playing him. Wouldn't surprise me if Maclin ends this season as Philly's best receiver. He just needs to be healthy. Edit: I'll also add that I do not trust Mark Sanchez.
I had Thomas in two leagues. Picked up MSW in one and Lance Moore in another. I don't trust the Jags anymore. Shiesty fools.
Only reason I disagree, is that Mike Thomas is definitely not a star WR. There will be receivers of his level available throughout the year. I can't trust Steve Smith because of the QB situation in Carolina. Sims Walker could bounce back if his decline last year was truly due to injuries as the Rams front-office says, and Plax is obviously a high reward if he can still play at the level he was at before.
My friend thinks Houston will be a sleeper defense this year and actually drafted them. Any thoughts?
I've had friends that have done that every year. Unless you get a top flight D, why not take a chance? Worst case scenario, you end up playing the matchups every week, which is the smart thing to do anyway.
I'm playing the matchup game in both leagues. I had the Titans D when they went 13-3 a couple of years ago, but that is the only time a single defense has ever worked out for me. I had the Jets last year and finally gave up on them. Great real world defense, average fantasy defense.
he's not a star, but he's a clear #1 on his team. That CAN generate star-type numbers at times, even for a guy who isn't a "star". So I think he's just as much a potentially high-value play as MSW or Plax, though for different reasons
I just picked up Danny Woodhead? If Foster is out, I'd start Ben Tate. I hope I don't have to start him though. My bench: Woodhead Plax Lee Evans McGahee Mike Thomas Gronkowski
Also, you have to watch out for those 3rd year WR. They tend to have big years. Mike Thomas is one to watch in deep leagues for sure.
Maybe I'm overlooking Plax, why in the world would you start this guy over Evans or Thomas. I'm sorry but I just don't see it. He's been out of the league too long to do anything this year.
Me too. I'm just scared of PITT defense in week 1. I think he'll be Sanchez's main target this year. Newman is also out against the Jets this week.
Didn't think about the matchup for Evans. I think Maclin is the safe play. Like I said before, I'd make Plax prove he can still do it. It may take him a while to get acclimated back to NFL.
I have a flex spot (W/R/T) that needs filling for week 1. Chad Ochocinco, Santana Moss, or Beanie Wells?
Out of those 3 I'd have to go with Beanie. Only because you know for a fact he'll get the most touches out of them, it's really hard for me to go with a 3rd year 1st round STILL unproven RB but that'd definitely be my choice. So I settled on going with the Browns D but still haven't found a quality WR so my choices are between: Collie vs. Texans D (no Peyton) or R. Williams vs Falcons D (no hands) Since it looks as if Crabtree can't go this weekend. Thoughts...
