He was on the campaign trail in South Carolina, flew back yesterday and did a speech from Bastrop around 5pm, he is a horrible speaker...

The guy who spoke after him, some Bastrop Civil servant was much better.

like DD said, he dropped his campaign and flew back to be in the mix of things. What else could he do? Do you want to see him on the front lines with a fire hose?

He was probably in the Buy/Sell forum of Cluthfans hitting F5 hoping Glen Rice had some more used hair gel for sale.

Another fire in NW Austin. Looks to be in the Riata area somewhere between Parmer and 183.

A tropical storm could be forming in the Bay of Campeche this week but once again looks to be headed to the east of Texas...more dry gusty north winds for Texas :(

My wife works at TASB on 183 between Duval and Oak Knoll. They haven't sent them home, yet. A co-worker just left a few minutes ago because she lives on Duval.

Tune in to any Austin area radio station for donation dropoff locations; there's one in every town/church/community center I know of: much needed - toiletries, tshirts, socks, underwear, baby food, pet food, non-perishables, LOTS of bottled water, energy bars, granola, and such....

and heavy gloves & trashbags, for the people scouring their former homes.

Something I learned from evacuating during Hurricane Katrina- don't wait for your employer to sound the alarm to bail. Trust your gut and get out early.

In other words, you guys with interests in the threatened areas, please take care of them now, before the rush.

    Mayan gods, make it happen.

You folks near Austin, stay safe and I hope nothing will happen! This is so awful.
