I'm a fan of both the BF series and the MW series (not necessarily the CoD series). As others have mentioned here, MW3 just seems like a patched version of MW2 with map pack(s). The jump from MW1 to MW2 was significant to me. It was a new game to me. MW3 doesn't look like a new game.

The BF series is great in it's own way, and with this new release it looks to be crazy fun and has me not interested in MW3 at all. It was probably smart for them to move the release back to not release at the same time.

Don't talk about realism, it's video games. Outside of trying to model the guns realistically, it's based off realism, much like movies are based off books, but liberties are taken to make it more entertaining.

Don't talk about twitch play. BF has just as much of that as MW does. If you like being in CQB, you need quick reflexes.

What I find funny is some of the COD fans whining about the use of vehicles in the BF games yet have nothing to say about nukes, or UAVs, or mobile robots you get in the COD games.

At the end of the day, if you are having fun, it is all good.

Personally, I love the destructible terrain and building in the BF series, no hiding behind walls when someone can simply blow a hole in the wall and make their own doorway etc.

Cod/MW have their fun moments but Battlefield has and will always be my favorite game.

BF1942/BF2 were two of the best games i've ever played. They were somewhat revolutionary.

BF3 just looks ridiculous. Definitley going to have to upgrade my pc to enjoy it.

That night scene looks bad a**! How many knife animations do they have? I like how you can see he snatch the dog tag after knifiing somebody.

Survival mode on MW3 is said to be pretty sweet...IGN has an article on it. I'm on my phone so it's hard for me to post it.

Both games will be pretty sweet.

Thank you...in my opinion sound matters just as much as everything else about a game. I ragged on the sound of Black Ops as one of the reasons why I didn't like it and some people, not all obviously, gave me a "who cares about the sound?!" look.

So I haven't played Battlefield since back on the Xbox. And I'm not the online player that I used to be and usually spend most of my time in the campaign. Is it worth getting for the single player?

I pretty much didn't play multiplayer at all in MW1&2, just the campaign and I really enjoyed it.

Completely agree with you...and it's one of the things that's bugging me about Killzone 2 which I'm currently playing (for the first time).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think BF3 is the first BF game with an actual single-player campaign (excluding the Bad Company games...which maybe should count). I'd guess it will probably be on par with the CoD games more or less.

Where can I get a decent video card to run this game that won't make the game + vcard over 200 bucks?

    I've got a 8600 Gt right now.

You're going to need to shell out like 250+.
Unless you want to run at minimum @ 800x600. Lol.

I think they recommend a Nvidia 460 GTX/ Radeon 6850, which can both be purchased for around $150-$200. Nvidia 560 GTX/Radeon 6870 hovers around $200 too I think (maybe a little lower with some deals), though not sure if they're better deals (I seem to recall reading at one point that the 6850 was a much better buy over the 6870). Newegg seems fine:

IIRC, they will be putting out some new cards later in the year, which would be good timing. I haven't really paid attention though, maybe they were delayed.

Not sure if this counts, but the bad company spin offs had campaigns. Not nearly on the level of CoD in my opinion though.
