Alone. My wife and I had a deal back when The West Wing and Lost were still on. I wouldn't bother her during Lost and she wouldn't bother me during The West Wing. Now, for me, it's Sons of Anarchy. The rest we watch together.

Depending on the viewing device, everything is going to streaming. Which automatically lessens having multiple people watching the same screen.

Do people still have the same viewing intimacy watching programs over a laptop or iPhone compared to the big TV unit?

Alone. I shall not be bothered when I'm in the zone.

Watching with friends is strictly for sports.. or the news.. because who pays attention to the news anyway?

if everybody watches the show in silence, and maybe a little laugh, and not talking during the show, then I can watch with people, but I like watching it alone too.

I know what you mean about "idjits" that can't STFU during great TV/movies.

But its also great when you have someone who appreciates what you are watching with ya.

Quick story: My best friend (who I've known for 40 years) and I almost ALWAYS go to a movie together when we have the rare opportunity to spend time together. A couple of years ago, he and I went to see the movie "Syriana" at the theatre.

About an hour into the movie he leaned over and whispered in my ear..."What the F_ck is this movie about?" I about pissed my pants from laughter and if you've seen this movie you know what I mean.

I had to pause and rewind cause of the talking.

One of the characters on the show figures something out. People at my place start yapping about what he figured out.

"Hey why did you rewind it? we know what happened"

-"I know that, I just want to HEAR THAT FROM THE CHARACTER not the audience"

this time wasn't as bad as last time.

It's not a Rockets game, but everyone thinks they are Calvin Murphy when they watch stuff.

If you watch with someone else, it needs to be someone who has TV/Video Game Awareness, or at least someone you can tell to STFU and they won't take it personally.
