this is ultimately about OU (and OSU by association) pushing UT to share revenues equally in the conference.
Hahaha ... Enjoy the MWC Max ... Even though you wont admit it, you know that is where your biased opinion is coming from At least I can admit I am wearing Maroon colored glasses
Regardless of what happens, at least the world knows that the University of Texas is a money hungry greedy university. Their arrogance and smugness is out of control and the failure of the Longhorn Network and the Big 12 are direct results of their greed and arrogance.
i'm not stating opinion here...i posted an article and explained to you what tortious interference was. i have yet to say what i THINK will happen. none of this is opinion....except the part about OU using this to get UT to share money more equally. that's opinion, because i don't THINK OU would go anywhere without UT at this point. it's arguably opinion that A&M doesn't resemble Florida in any way, shape or form in terms of athletic department success...but honestly that feels more like fact than opinion. cool down and stop trying to make it personal.
Exactly. Every other university has a community mindset and is actively trying to make sure everyone else is making money more than themselves. It doesn't matter that Texas A&Ms athletic program is 20 million in debt. They aren't money hungry. It's all good. Iowa St. Kansas St, Kansas are all getting a LOT more money in the new TV agreement because of Texas and OU. Not because anyone wants to see them play. Once again, the LHN is going to broadcast a ton of women's basketball, softball and all the random smaller sports. Giving the athletes who are mostly ignored some exposure. Hate all you want but Texas makes money for other programs. A&M is just in position where they can make money because the SEC wants them. No BCS conference is going to want Baylor, Iowa St, Kansas St., or Texas Tech.
Actually the article pretty much provides the only avenue for Texas to get exactly what it wants (and coincidentally what Baylor and you want) and that is for the Big XII to stay together. With OU saying they are leaving if A&M is gone, Texas is going back to crying to the legislature and lawyers to get A&M to stay so the Big XII stays together and UT can keep their precious network as is. Slanting as bad for UT is absurd. They have no desire to go Pac12 unless they are forced to, and UT isnt used to having to do what it doesnt want to do, just like a spoiled child. And yes, A&M does most resemble Fla in the SEC. A&M and Fla would be the only AAU schools in the SEC with a very successful athletic department top to bottom. Both A&M and Fla finished in the top 10 of the Directors cup for the last 2 years and academically only GA and Vandy are in the upper tier (but without the overall athletic success). Sure Fla is a better FB program, but Liucci never said our FB program was closest to Fla. You are a typical lawyer that only takes the facts and opinions that fit your view and try to diminish all other facts that dont (ie Chip Brown being completely wrong on this story nearly every step of the way)
And there is nothing personal ... I can tell you are a good dude ... I just want you to admit your opinion is biased like the rest of us
the Legislature stopping UT from doing whatever it wants is not in UT's favor..at all. them slapping back Powers and being angry at him for assuring them the Big XII would stick together isn't real sweet either. FL won multiple national championships in football and basketball over the last decade or so. I think that's very different from A&M's athletic department. Not sure why you're so intent on making this so personal against me. You can think whatever you want of me; I could not care less, Josh...but when I post an article that I didn't write, I'm not posting opinion.
Hasn't Florida won 2 titles in football AND basketball recently? It's clear as day that your inner Hank Mcdowell wants to reveal itself. Pretty fun game from a "nobody" on Friday night, huh?
And A&M won something like 9 national titles in the last 2 years and when you throw in academics, A&M on the whole does most resemble Fla in the SEC ... No one ever said the FB or Basketball program was most like Florida's Yeah it was a good game on Friday from a school that is currently sitting at the Big Boy table because they were first in line at the soup kitchen in the Mid 90s. Well the soup kitchen is closing and its time for you to go. Wont be many games like that in the future with the recruits you will soon be getting. Oh yeah ... Love how you had your opening game high for attendance at 45K while half the stadium was filled with the opposing teams fans.
Everything you have posted is an opinion that you try to present as fact ... Typical Lawyer And if you want a specific opinion, how about the implication that Chip Brown is more reliable than Billy Liucci on this story ... Billy has been WAY out in front on this story and its not even close. Chip Brown has been completely wrong numerous occasions (as have other sources like AggieYell and Sandhop) while Liucci has been on the money. According to Chip, there was "Zero" truth to A&M to the SEC when this started and That the SEC didnt want A&M
a lesson i humbly learned over a decade a go, the second you start being a dick to a poster like madmax is the second you need to back away from the keyboard and take a deep breath. settle down aggy.
Ive not been a dick to him at all and believe he is a good guy, but stated that he has an agenda here ... If he wants to take it the wrong way that is his and your choice. Settle down bobcat
