RedNation PG - Deron Williams SG - John Salmons / Tony Allen SF - Paul George / Martell Webster PF - Dirk Nowitzki C - Omer Asik / Jason Thompson
Wow, I have the better player at every position except Dirk, including the bench. And Millsap is a really nice player, too. So why am I losing 15 to 2?
I'm guessing its because of your very small backcourt which is not help by your lack of help defense.
It doesn't matter that you have the better player at every position. The question is which team is better.
Well, sure, I wouldn't be arguing so much if I were losing 15 to 10 or something. But 24 to 3? Come on now. It's not that lopsided.
John Salmons is only really useful on a bad team. In Chicago, he was not very effective. He defends, but he is an inefficient scorer that can't create for others in the offense. Getting him to reduce the amount of shots he takes for this team would be a challenge. My team's biggest weakness is the small backcourt, but am I really that worried about John Salmons or Tony Allen going off on me? If that happens, I do have Devin Harris that could come in to play defense. RedNation's team has no backup PG or C. (Thompson isn't strong enough to play center) Once Dirk or Deron get tired, his team can't compete with mine. Green can really pick up the slack on offense when needed for me. He does have a good offense with Deron and Dirk, but they can't both play the whole game. When they're out, his team is frankly not very good. The main advantage my team has is in the post. Millsap has a huge strength advantage on Dirk. Plus he can space the floor while Kaman is operating down there. We both have superstar PGs, but CP3 is the better one.
Reasons my team should win: first of all, the dirk deron pnr is impossible to stop. You can't stop dirk in the post in the half court. If you try to double him I have solid 3 pt shooters behind him. Dwill is also big and strong so he can bother cp3 on defense. Tony allen can also come in and shut him down. I don't think defense will be mich of a proble. As for my bench, its not like I will take out both dwill and dirk. If I take out dwill, allen will be in to bother the other teams pg but dirk will still be in to dominate the post. When dirk is out, thompson or asik will be playing pf. Dwill pnr with one of those guys will still be effective. Tell me what you will do if I play with a lineup of dwill allen webster thompson and asik. Where do you plan on scoring from, prince? With that lineup alone I have a great 3 point man in webster. Asik allen and thompson are pretty good on d.
Just no answer for Dirk. Sorry thing, your team is nice (and would have been great had that ******* not scrammed on your Granger deal) but RedNation wins this one.
Well, obviously CP3 will be able to score no matter who is playing against him, but he might be limited somewhat by Tony Allen. Jason Terry would definitely be able to score with Williams guarding him. Also Green or Millsap would be able to score against Webster or Thompson (I don't think he's that good on d). Prince does have a little offensive game, though. He's not a nothing on offense--he has averaged at least double figures for years now. That's a lot of options.
I think you underestimate dwills size and defense. Prince has a little offensive game but I'm not worried about him exploding on webster. I think that thompson can guard millsap reasonably well.
