that's what i meant, drafting colt in the first round is like drafting moes in the last round of a neckbeard draft. assbackwards.
Someone paid $55 on the very first player picked, Adrian Peterson But it was a different Adrian Peterson, it was pretty funny
Was listening to 790 this morning. Some caller named Titan Tinman or something Titan Shawn/Sean called in and listed his WRs and Backs. Nothing but Titans. Uhh, i drafted Kenny Britt.. You can hear them snicker in the background, which was funny.
Agreed. He threw for 4700 yard and 30tds/13 picks last year with a receiving core that missed a lot of games for one reason or another. I'm sure he'll do even better than that with healthy receivers and VJax for the whole year.
help this FF newb a little....I thought top QB producers like Rivers or Peyton (without the injuries) were usually the first few picks. Are RBs typically the biggest point producers?
The difference between the 3rd best QB and the 10th best QB is way smaller than the difference between the 3rd best RB and the 10th best RB. Players should be ranked on tiers, not position.
When healthy he is certainly worth it. He is so much better than any other TE. I've had him a few times, and he has been extremely valuable, but all the game-time decisions really wear you down. This year I have Dallas Clark in one league where he slipped way down.
I usually catch some grief because of my affinity for picking an abundance of tight ends in the later rounds. I don't know that they're funny picks, as I usually get them past their estimated pick (usually) and their projections are better than what is left at WR and RB, but when you look at my roster after the draft, I always have several.
We had a guy in my league that picked Tebow first overall and still starting him this week. Just to prove it to ya'll, here's a screenshot of his team: http://i56.tinypic.com/m8znn5.jpg
Damn. And I was just about to post that a guy took Eli Manning in the 6th round of my league when Josh Freeman (i got him :grin Big Ben and Matt Stafford were still on the board. This was a mid-level buying in league to. Entry fee was 150.00 a piece. Now, I'm not saying that Eli won't be good, but surely if you wanted him, take the guy in the 8th or 9th round or even later. Also, a few people in my league took 2 kickers????? This is crazy.
A guy in my draft smirked at me when I took Ryan Mathews in the 3rd round after he picked up Tolbert in a later round. Appartly, a lot of people believe that Tolbert will overtake Mathews based on the fact that they held tolbert out of the final preseason game and "made" Mathews start. I mean it is reasonable they will be in a time share, but I still rather have Mathews.
Same draft, someone took Vick with #2 and they all let Andre Johnson fall to me at 16. I had something like the 4th or 5th pick so I got Charles and Johnson first two picks, then followed that up and got Rivers in the 3rd.
Jahvid Best with the 8th pick overall. One person took both Cowboys kickers with the last pick in the 10th round and first pick in the 11th round. He laughed at me when I got Gostkowsi in the 13th round. Eagles DST taken in the middle of the 2nd round. Steelers DST taken early in the 3rd round. Vick taken 4th overall. Dallas Clark taken beginning of 3rd round and 1st TE to be picked. Eli Manning taken with last pick in 3rd round. He then took Peyton with the very next pick. Colt McCoy taken in the early 4th. Mason Crosby in the middle of the 6th. Antonio Brown in round 7. This is a $50 league btw....
strangest one ive seen was in a league this year i play with all of my family and friends its a 12 man competitive league. its also a keeper league, we sent our keepers in the sunday before the draft and my brother decided to keep ochocinco and calvin johnson. people he could have kept were P. Manning (smart now), R. Wayne or Desean Jackson. so i thought his keepers were weird. Many QB were kept but when it came to his pick in the 1st round which is actually the 3rd since there were two keepers ended up being Matt Stafford with Rivers on the board as well as Ben and Freeman and Ryan, His next pick ended up being Blount with so so RB left but i though it was a strange pick nonetheless.
Looking on past results, Tolbert scored more TDs, Mathews was injured, and this year Norv Turner stated that Tolbert will get the majority of goal line carries. In a pass-first offense like that, I wouldn't touch Mathews with a 10 foot pole, especially after he showed up out of condition this season. Thats the #1 way to ensure either another injury or a trip to the bench.
