This is depressing. This thing is actually quite close to us. If it was a normal system we would at least be getting some rain bands but right now we aren't getting squat. Take a look at these two satellite loops. First the water vapor. http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t1/flash-wv.html You can see that there is an upper level low spinning at the Texas/LA border. This is creating a heck of a lot of shear and knocking down any development on the west side of the tropical depression. Now look at the infrared loop. http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/flt/t1/flash-avn.html You can see that the actual center of this system is not that far off the coast (about 200ish miles se of galveston) but all the rain is on the east side of the system. Everything that tries to develop on the west side just gets sheared off thanks to that upper level low.
I wonder if there is ANY chance that upper level low will go away any time soon. I'll take an inch of rain. just something.
I know, right? Cedar trees suck up that water, I will not miss all of those that are dying, they are a weed anyway.....but dang.....my yard looks like ass. DD
