    That's funny. Because for years and years NBA fans and NBA marketing have been claiming otherwise.

    Hey........:eek::confused::(

    Let's make it clear most European people also think that OHMMS is a troll. And do not support his posts. Let's not get carried away with blaming his stupid posts on him being European. Many Europeans know a lot about basketbal.:grin:

    Seeing all the European tournaments and some Euroleague games I sadly have to agree. All the guys who claim he will be a star obviously didn't watch European Basketball for the last few years. Rubio had amazing talent and performances bein 17 or under but completelely fell off since. Right now there is no way you can discuss him bein a player for a contending team in the NBA. No jumpshot, mediocre athleticsm, no factor on offense, tons of bad performances. He gets his steals yes and once in a while throws great passes on transition, but that's it. And I'm saying that as a guy that once was a fan.

    Yeah, I was a fan of his too back around when he was 16-17. However, I have seen about 3 years of awful basketball from him and basically at this point, he is an actual detriment to his team, be it Spain or Barca, whenever he is on the court.

    I don't think the Wolves have any clue what they are getting themselves into by putting their whole fan base into such a frenzy by telling them what a superstar this guy will be.

    There are many Euroleague point guards that you would take before Rubio if you were picking a team. I don't know what happened to Rubio.

    At first he seemed like the best ever at his age. Then he seemed only slightly better than his own age group. Then he seemed like he might be the second coming of Nikos Zisis. As in super at a young age, but then just very good as a grown player..........

    then he went to being very mediocre, and then he went to being just plain bad. Finally, he has landed in a range of what I would call, a poor man's Rafer Alston being the best case scenario for his career.

    All in the span of about 5 years time. Supposedly he is a real hard worker, but based on how he gets worse every year, and seemingly was a better player at age 16 than he is now, I have doubt about his work ethic. He has had no injuries that would affect his game.

    So there must be something lacking in his work ethic. The NBA will be easier for him, because it is less physical, the rules make offense easier, the refs will baby him, the game is more open, the defense is less emphasized, etc.

    But nonetheless, the guy just isn't that good. He gets worse every year and that's kind of bizarre. He's like the Benjamin Button of basketball.

    As depressing/bashing as it sounds, total truth. Supporters here will soon witness it.

    Overeacting on one game from Rubio, like Euroball is any indicator of what play is like in the NBA....so sad.

    Rubio will get his shot, whether he fails or succeeds in the NBA is up in the air, but dancing on his grave before his career even starts at the age of 21...is stupid.

    Of vastly inferior basketball.....

    Let's see what happens when he gets to pass the ball to NBA players who can finish...

    You should watch some European top clubs in Euroleague before calling it "vastly inferior". Eurobasket is on these days, take a look and examine the level of play. It's different but the defense and basics are huge.
    It's not that the European guys get tons of brilliant passes from him but miss the baskets. He's just not playin good and not helpin the offense. And what do NBA teams do with a mediocre athlete who has absolutely no offense? Don't see how you are beneath mediocre in Europe but make it in the NBA from zero to big time contributor. There are dozens of PGs in Europe that are better than the Rubio we're watching for the past few years. It may look different for you American guys that only see his highlight tapes and old scouting reports. He's similar to Rafer Alston or Telfair, watch their Youtube-tapes and you actually think they're brilliant PGs that bring you excitement and contribute every game.

    Is this a joke? One game? He has been flat out awful for the last 3 years now.

    One game?

    He has had a hundred games or more like this in the last couple years alone.

    You really have a severe lack of basketball knowledge.

    The Timberwolves are a vastly inferior team to both Barca and Spain. Especially in terms of being able to finish they are like high school level by comparison.

    He is dropping about 3 levels in terms of the quality of the players he will play with. I think you just officially proved you know the least about basketball of anyone in this entire forum.

    You hate Rafe Alston with a passion, yet you endlessly reap praise on a guy that is the same exact player, only worse. Talk about being a hypocrite. Let me guess.....it's just because Rubio is white isn't it?

    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    I didn't know it was possible that I could disagree with every single person in a thread, even though they all disagree with each other. :)

    Indeed.

    Worst player on Turkey? Hedo Turkoglou

    Worst player on Italy? Marco Belinelli

    Worst player on Spain? Ricky Rubio

    Perfect example right there. There are European teams where the worst player of the entire team is an NBA player. The guys like DD sound like total fools with some of the stuff they say.

    Yea we've been superb in the clutch. Been a close game comin into the 4th, but we were ice-cold. Italy with 6/24 threes, bad performance.
