It wasn't listed on the Southland Conference website, and games between Texas State and other Southland teams are listed as non-conference. I assumed that meant that Texas State was independent this year, just playing an SLC schedule.

SFA ranked 14th in preseason poll. Hopefully if they make the playoffs again this year they won't be blown out like they have been in recent playoff appearances. Our Texas boys can't play in Montana in the middle of winter! SFA needs home field advantage although that didn't help last year. I want to see how they do against Baylor on 9/17.

    Axe 'em!!

Good start last night by SHSU. They have one of the better, if not the best defensive backfield in the SLC. They have a very good RB and a lot of returning starters. I hope for a better season and a shot at the playoffs.

    Haha

I was at a party w a lot of fellow bobcats and red raiders... It was pretty funny until the 2nd half. Felt alright coming into the half as our defense looked pretty damn good but it was painfully obvious that the raiders just had too much size and athleticism. I like to believe the Texas State Fighting Frans just lost interest.

Next year tech at San Marcos. I will go out of my way to not have a girlfriend at that time.

    Geaux Pokes!

Mcneese needs to bounce back next week. Good thing they played Kansas first game of the season and not in mid season.

So how did that work out for the jacks? I know, it would have been a whole different story had there been a 4th quarter

pretty much as expected, about as well as any SLC team would have done.

    Baylor's future home? :p

Of course kidding. Baylor will find a seat(other than the SLC) when the music stops

Texas State looked like crap in a win against a DII school. Franchione's honeymoon is over and 3 games in, fans are already having buyer's remorse.

The big issue is that he's playing the lesser of 2 quarterbacks because the guy can run a little bit. The QB in question played for Fran's son at Blinn (played WR and backed up Cam Newton). His incredible stat line against DII Tarleton was 11 for 22 for 106 yards. Both season high's in completions and yards. He's also fumbled 7 times already this season.

Then I heard yesterday that Larry Zierlein, Lance Z's dad, wanted to coach the O-Line at Texas State but Fran hired the OL coach from Blinn instead.

Another nice win by SHSU. Stomped Central Arkansas at home 31-10. Looking good so far.
