Wow some people just love to b!tch.. Seriously, it's still a great story. If you don't buy a high def version of this movie series because of some minor tweaks you are a tool...

Alright, then you feel strong enough about the original that this doesn't work for you. I don't think this change isn't unfaithful to how I originally saw it and, in fact, is better.

Not sure why he's messing with the classics, he should redo episode 1....all of it.

If by "redo" you mean "erase", then sure.

People complained that adding ewoks to ROTJ was a child-centric cash-grab.

Fifteen years later, he made a whole movie that was nothing but.

Jar Jar, pod racers, Darth Maul.

    Ridiculous.

"Wait, lemme get this straight. Instead of one lightsaber, he has two glued to each other?!"

    OH-EM-GEE!!!

While Lucas just sits back and rubs his Cheetos-stained fingers together.

    Don't be his sucker.

    BOYCOTT, BRETHREN!

EDIT: I forgot to add, Return of the Jedi was originally called Revenge of the Jedi, until one of George's people reminded him that a Jedi would never seek revenge.

I have one of the original posters to prove it. It's hanging in my living room.

Not sure how anybody can defend Lucas' molestation of his "work" when it's clear he didn't totally understand it himself, but only borrowed from other well-known paradigms to make a grab at commercial success.

Every day, I wish a buttf***ing on George Lucas. If there is a god, he (or she) will grant my wish eventually.

I remember always seeing that movie poster at a theater I frequented as a kid and wanting to snatch it because of its epicness. It was before I even knew what Star Wars was.

I have the originals on DVD, ripped from laserdisc.

    Kiss my ass, Lucas.

Some people still buy into these ****s some 70 years after its release?

    Amazing.

They're download worthy. Would spend my money on some kitkats than this.

Oh I definitely agree, the only motivation I would have to buy these movies is the fact that I don't own them on blu ray, and I have no idea where my VHS player is. I just think it's sad and pathetic how people cry about seconds of change in what is almost 10 hours of video. Cry me a freaking river.

It's sad that Lucas took his cue from an Internet meme.

I hope he sells the rights to someone else to do a Thrawn trilogy.

Obligatory "I'm too cool for one of the most beloved and acclaimed things in the history of history" post.

Tweaked it for a plausable scenario. I wish him all his days walking the earth, just saying he will go to his grave clutching the cinema rights.

Fair enough. I hope I live to see a Thrawn Trilogy as that is my favorite portion of the Star Wars Universe. I think I'd cry if I found out Lucas was going to do it though. :(

If that ever happened, I would s*** my pants out of sheer gratitude.

I have a funny way of showing gratitude.

The question is, "Who would play Mara Jade?"

EDIT: If anyone says Milla Jovovich, their lives are forfeit.
