The NBA is superior, because the Rockets are in the NBA...

I don't like football and sports in general much either, not like I used to. Growing up I was a sports fanatic: high school, college the NFL, especially the Dallas Cowboys. Now? I could care less about the Cowboys. I like the Texans, but when they would lose in the past I hardly watched the NFL, unless it was a big game. Even then I only half watched.

If the Houston Texans do really good I will probably pay attention. If not, I'll half watch until the superbowl.

Hot wings, beer, big tv, and Alabama football.

    Nothing even comes close.

Fair weather fan you are. I watch the Texans even if they are good, bad or ugly. My team doesn't have to be winning for me to enjoy the sport. Every week is a new opportunity at turning things around.

Trudat. But college football is inferior to the NFL...

That's the perception when you are raised/live in a pro city like Houston. But if you get the opportunity to attend a big-time football school or grow up around it, attending the games and such, it's easy to be converted. I'm specifically talking big-time football (SEC) where the stadium is larger than most every other NFL stadium.

With players changing uniforms each year, and more focus on the players, the NFL isn't as appealing. I became a fan of the Oilers around '94. They sucked. Then they left. Meh.

The tigers suck big time and Shirley Raines and RC Johnson don't have a clue how to get the university into the BCS. Their big initiative was "tiger lane" to the decrepit Liberty Bowl.

At least we have a strong basketball team.

Until Memphis finds a budget for a new football stadium we are going to be second class citizens.

I don't watch football, never really got exposed to it here that much here in Canada.

I do watch a lot of baseball though which is weird.

Football produces hunter-gatherer instincts in us?

    Post of the year?

    I think so.

    Thanks, moes.

    Football is a man's game!

I think America's love for football has more to do with people in general's need for competition, coupled with the innate lust for violence that has existed in humans for most of their existence.
