Excuse me for speaking out loud, but I just realized that I am not that big of a football fan as I used to be.

Actually for me, fantasy football is what I enjoy most about football season. Maybe it is because there is no loyalty in football, I can hardly keep up with the players on the team. At least in fantasy football I have individual players to root for.

Regular season games are pretty boring. Don't get me wrong I will watch the playoffs, but even then a lot of games are really boring games. There have been some great superbowl games, but football is now well below my love for basketball, which is the greater game.

Nah, not wrong. Sports in general fall way lower on the priority scale for me these days. NBA fell behind the NFL for me a couple of years ago. NFL isn't even a big deal for me this year- I have other crap going on in my life that takes precedence.

It's wrong for you to assume that anyone cares or that it makes you unique. That's not meant to be adversarial, just that many more people ignore sports than you'd think.

I believe that men enjoy football because it produces the largest emotional reaction in us, survival instincts, hunter-gatherer, war, etc.

Enjoying football is a form of fixation where the individual is partially remaining at a childish level of development (i.e. enjoying children's games)

Hunting in this case is hunting fellow man, i.e. the need for violence, like why we enjoy horror films. The sublime qualities of seeing something ****ed up.

I'm not much of a football fan either. I'll watch the Texans, but only because they're from Houston, and I haven't cared enough about them in recent years to devote virtually any attention to them.

But I'm (cautiously) excited for them this season, so who knows.

Hunting was for survival, not to kill another man. You must be thinking of psychopathy.

The reffing in the NFL is superior. NBA refs try to take over games. We know a lot of NBA refs but how many NFL refs do we know besides Mr. Swoll (Ed Hochuli)? Exactly

    NFL > NBA

Each game is so intense. I can't wait for Sundays to come around.
