Looks like Adelman is out of the running. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/6...innesota-timberwolves-leaves-deal-source-says
I'm think that Adelman came to his senses and realized he would rather coach a championship team than be outranked by Kahn
I knew someone was going to make up an excuse, you beat me to it. 'he got begged but he rather take a vacation with his family' ****ing rick troll.
There's an LA sports radio host here who had David Kahn as a roommate in college. He hasnt outright called Kahn a dope in the times I've heard him. Heard him say he's shocked that "HE" coulda be an NBA general manager. And that Kahn's the type that just believes he's better than what he really is. But you can clearly tell in his voice he thinks Kahn's not any good and probably said it before on his show.
Whether Adelman can actually work in Minnesota or not, its a bit dumb of the Wolves themselves act as "choosers" here. That is, if its not Adelman taking himself out. I'll laugh if they get one of those Vinnie Del Negro player coach types to go with the "trend" against convention.
ESPN says like it's standard that an owner-coach meeting is followed by the signing of contracts. I'm pretty much sure that both parties are standpatting because of the lockout. A formal contract offer could be issued anytime.
Not sure where it says he's out of the running. Like kovacs242 says, this could all be about the owner not wanting to start paying a coach until the players come back, or at least, not yet.
I'm on board with Adelman taking this job. Win Win for me personally. Scenario 1: Adelman makes Timberwolves a playoff contender and the Rockets get a higher spot in the lottery rankings. Scenario 2: Adelman bombs with the Wolves and fans here will stop talking about how the Rockets are forever going to regret losing a HOF coach who singlehandedly made the crappiest NBA roster into a .500 ballclub.
I've never seen a "HOF" coach get passed over so many times. Lol. What will the Rick lovers say when he doesn't even get the Wolves job?
Wait till his work does the talking? I would say that he wasn't really that into it, I bet he would have the job if he didn't feel reluctant about it (a coach of his stature has to be). I think this is more telling, your two perceived cornerstones are so anxious they can't control themselves about it. There's no denying Adelman's tenure in Houston.
Adelman is close to signing with Minnesota as soon as next week. That's according to hoopsworld, so take it for what it's worth. http://www.hoopsworld.com/timberwol...eal&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
A little corroborating info for what it's worth... http://www.startribune.com/sports/blogs/129537318.html

Haha so basically we switched coaches ? Interesting to see how Adelman will do there with the ego issues of Beasley but wish him the best.
