Sure is frustrating watching every mid line-up rally go dead by our #8 #9 hitters. Auto 2 outs there im afraid. Cant we find a C that can hit better than .190 ?
I remember the days when Ausmus and Everett were the black holes at the bottom of the order. Both would be welcomed back and improve the lineup.
Sad to admit, but Ausmus would be an improvement offensively at Catcher. I guess Everett and Barmes is a wash.
You'd be surprised, Adam had a couple of seasons where he was a decent hitter. Barmes had one REALLY good season but this season is about as much as you can expect from him.
You know...before his injury Sosa was the 2nd best prospect in the Giants system with their best fastball.
He is taking care of business tonight, so far. Still, how good are his 2nd and 3rd pitches? Wagner is the only guy I can think of who was effective with just a fastball.
All of read, that's the issue...consistent command of his breaking stuff. I think we might found out over the next season. Nice job Downs.
His slider is good. His changeup is ok. If he can improve the changeup, he's a legit starter. If not, he's a legit bullpen player. Either way, he was excellent value for Keppinger (along with Stoffel, who was originally the best player in the trade).
Here we go again. Exact same situation as a couple innings ago. Parades walked to 3rd on intentional walk to Corporan to bring up Sosa with 2 away.
Love Altuve but if I had to guess I'd say Martinez has a better shot at becoming something special. His approach is just so good for someone his age.
For a minute there, I thought they were bringing in their center fielder to pitch. Thought it unlikely they had 2 McCutchens.
