As much as I would love to see Adelman on the sidelines of the Target Center I hope for his longterm health he doesn't.

Plus I am still pissed about the Rockets hiring McHale and it is just rubbing salt in my wound to see Adelman coaching the T-Puppies.

Totally agree, unless you intend to tank...right?

And how much playing time did Lowry get before he played for Adelman?

I just can't see Adelman working successfully with David Kahn. Kahn is an idiot and Adelman is prickly, not a good combination. Do you think it's possible Taylor dumps Kahn next summer because he and Adelman don't get along?

Khan is not an idiot, he has a plan, while it may not always work out, he certainly has done a decent job of acquiring top notch talent.

    C - Love
    PF - Beasley
    SF - Williams
    SG - Johnson
    PG - Rubio

Not a bad lineup at all. Young group of guys with lots of potential.

If Adelman is hired I hope that happens. Sooner Kahn is gone the better..

Khan may end up like Steve Patterson, the guy who built the Rockets, but gets no credit for it.

So you're saying that they might win a title?

Kahn has gotten "top-notch" talent for continuously sucking. If only DM could have consistently assembled a crappy roster. Oh and I didn't realize that Minnesota's GM was indo/pak :p

Duh! When has it ever worked out for Kahn in Minnesota?

Tell us all what his plan is?

What top notch talent has Kahn acquired?

He screwed up the 2009 draft...Curry is a gazillion times better than both Rubio and Flynn.

He screwed up the 2010 draft...passed on young centers like Cousins and Monroe and signed Darko that summer instead.

Derrick Williams will be a really good player, but I don't know how much credit Kahn deserves for not screwing up the #2 pick in a draft with only two possible franchise players.

Kahn's first impressive move will be if he happens to get this Adelman thing done.

Maybe... or perhaps wants to keep coaching and there are no other jobs out there. I am sure the $6,000,000 a year salary has some bearing on that as well.

I don't know all the reasons behind the split between RA and the Rockets... but I can say, I am sure RA's age and desire to coach one more year play a part in it.

Some of it is that he inherited a crappy team and then decided to blow it all up, tear it down and start over.

That is not easy to do, and most GMs do not survive such a risky venture.

However, that is the way to get elite level talent on a more consistent basis.

Khan gets blasted for his nuttiness, but his roster is far from a lost cause, they are on the upswing.

Championship? Well, who knows....that is just too hard to predict.

Curry is great, love him, but I think we need to see Rubio play in the NBA with NBA talent, more than any position a PGs success is predicated upon whom they play with.....

Let's give him a couple of years to see whether he blew it or not.

Your reasoning is extremely bizarre. There is no way Rubio’s teammates are responsible for him being such a lackluster player in the Euroleague so far. I mean, you see a player like Deron Williams whose NJ teammates are utter crap and he still looks like a star every time he’s out on the court with them.

And besides that, the point stands that Kahn has done a bunch of other stupid things like taking Flynn at #6 too. Rebuilding through the draft can be a good idea with the right combination of luck and smarts, but Kahn indeed lacks the smarts to draft well and to create a well-balanced roster.

You been watching Spain's warm-up games to Eurobasket? Are Rubio's teammates the reason he looks not very good? You should have learned from V-Mac that a couple of good games in the Olympics does not anoint an NBA star. I don't remember who it was that boasted on so many occasions how V-Mac "owned CP3". Apparently that so-called ownership meant zip once he got to the NBA.

At least you finally admit (or imply) Rubio will not take the NBA by storm because he's got a looooooong way to go. I just don't see it. He'll be 21 years-old in a couple of months and does not appear to be a special NBA talent, despite playing many years with the big boys in Europe. That should have accelerated his development. Plus, my understanding is Rubio's teams in Euroland have been very good (in spite of him), so blaming his teammates for his performance makes no sense whatsoever. If he had been stuck on a lower tiered team, at least your excuse could temporarily hold water.

It's also amazing you've talked yourself into defending David Kahn. Just wow. Hopefully for the Timberwolves, Adelman will become the big man on campus and run him out of town.

Had Presti or Pritchard been in charge of Minny for the last few years, they would be in the playoffs now and looking to contend real soon.

This just doesn't make any sense. Why didn't Tricky Ricky just stay in Houston? He would have had a better chance here with a team on the rise. At least a better chance than he will have in Minny. IMO, adding Finch to his staff would have been a plus.

Because the team did not want him to stay in Houston and thus put untenable demands in order for him to stay, like forcing him to fire some of his staff etc.

Minnesota isn't winning a title for a very long time. That window opened and closed with KG. This is one of the easiest predictions to make.
