I got a Polk 3000 iht soundbar today and I can't get the sound to work. I do not have cable but have a ps3 for games, movies, and netflix hooked up with hdmi. The polk has no hdmi only red/white cable. So is my problem the speaker is not processing the hdmi info from the ps3? And if that is the case is there so type of converter I can buy?
If the Polk has no HDMI, how can HDMI be the problem? I think it is obvious you need to change the sound setting on the PS3 and have it output to the analog adapter.
your ps3 is connected to the tv with hdmi right? since it's an analog soundbar, you need the analog out from your tv (yellow/red) table to the your soundbar. your tv settings should also allow you to adjust the audio out as stereo.
I forgot that the ps3 came with av cables. Now the problem is its not syncing right, lips not matching lips. Hmm
Yeah the sound is probably ahead of the video. Can your soundbar delay the audio? Most AVR's can but not sure about what you have. Also if you can get the audio from analog outputs on your TV it would likely solve the issue. If you TV has analog audio outputs then use them instead.
Took about an hour but it looks like my tv matched the video and sound over time. Thanks very much caseyh for all the help
i bought the polk audio 3000 surroundbar a couple of weeks ago. i hooked it up the first night and it played fine for an hour. i turned it off and then turned it back on again and it took over 30 minutes for the sound to come back on. i got fed up with it and just returned it and got the boston acoustics tvee soundbar and it's so much better. btw i had the same problem with the polk soundbar using both the analog and optical inputs.
