I had just come here to mention that Eddie. The thing that gets me is all the dumb comments about how Arian makes millions or how he doesn't care about the fans. When if you actually follow Foster on Twitter you would know that he IS a horse of a different color with regards to professional athletes.

Well, half the comments are like that, the other half seem to be bashing the writer of the article.

And for what it's worth, I agree with Arian on this one. If you are concerned about his health and getting back on the field so he can help the Texans get to the postseason then cool. But if your concern about his health is about how your Renegades or Juggernauts can win your week 1 matchup, then as he says, sick.

    Millions?

    LOL.

Where is that article that talked about Arian cruising around in a base model Dodge Charger eating at hamburger joints and getting called "Adrian" by 99% of fans on the street?

He is anything but your typical superstar athlete.

Which is why he is so likable. That, and he has a completely different perspective on things when compared to most athletes.

Arian was definitely not joking when he made that tweet. He hates fantasy and thinks its stupid. He's mentioned that before. So when fans get on his twitter and tell him that they are pissed because they just drafted him, Im sure he doesnt like hearing that over and over a thousand times.

He was an undrafted free agent and is being paid like one. By NFL standards, he being paid squat. No doubt he'll get PAID next year but to think that the guy has millions right now? No way.

250 yards a game makes a 4,000 yard season! Yet you're saying 250 yards, when his team was getting killed in time of possession, is "getting handled quite nicely"? He carved us up like so much Thanksgiving turkey. Again.

I'm pretty sure if you asked any team if they'd be happy holding Peyton Manning to 250 yards on 68% completions with 1 TD they'd take that almost any day of the week.

He got harassed and beat up that game, but he's still Peyton Manning. Just give the defense some credit, there are a dozen other examples of them getting totally owned by even mediocre QBs last year, but week 1 is not one of them.

Can't argue with that, Donny. I hear you.

The original point was that our "new" D has everything to prove (even though many of us, myself included, feel some measure and justified optimism about it), while Manning has nothing to prove. That's all I meant to say.

    I can dig it.

I think Manning does have something to prove, though. Everybody thinks he's a dead stick right now. Probably eager to prove to everyone how ready he is.

I'm not scared of the Colts this year. We should have beat them twice last year, but we out-Kubiak'd ourselves in Indianapolis. I like the way this division is shaping up, looking mighty weak.

We should indeed have beaten the Colts twice, had Kubiak not out-stupided himself. Still a little pissed over that game.

That said, we handled them by keeping Manning off the field. That guy is the second coming of Joe Montana. If you let him on the field, he will eat your children and grandchildren.

Not positive what that stat line is from, but

    1) Taking one game, or really 15 pass attempts to be definitive about anything in NFL football is silly. Any Given Sunday. The defense we saw Week 1 last season left midway through the 4th and never showed up again.

    2) Peyton Manning All Time vs Houston
    16-2 record, 668 for 448 (67.0%), 5122 yds, 7.6 ypc, 42 TD to 9 INT, 105.2 QBR

I like our defense. I never like seeing Peyton Manning.

The defense is a high risk/reward type that looks to cause so much havoc in the pocket that teams can't take advantage of the open spaces it leaves in the secondary and looks to create turnover opportunites.

Sharp passers that can make great decisions and get the ball out in less than 3 seconds are going to be tough to go against. Manning's one of those guys. I'm hoping that neck gives him hell.

Here's hoping we run the ball down their throats again. Just keep Manning the hell off the field.

Since 2004, Phillips has faced those 3 QBs 6 times, and he held them below their career QBR in four of those six games (Brees = 81.5; Brady = 78.1 and 57.6 (a playoff game, FYI); Manning = 70.2). Brady and Manning did nick his defense in the other two games (129.6 and 95.2 – the Brady game, FWIW, came during their insane 19-0 season when they nicked EVERY defense).

While I don’t have the time to definitively research every WCO Phillips has faced, I did go back and look at his results against the Eagles and, again, Phillips comes out ahead. Since 2004, he faced McNabb and the Eagles nine times and he held McNabb below his career QBR in 7 of those games, again – including a playoff game. And well below: 69.0; 64.0; 78.1; 61.4; 74.2; 68.5 (playoff); 63.4.

Not meant to be definitive or predicative but…

    Out-Kubiak'd and out-stupided, that's funny.

    http://www.thefastertimes.com/sportschat/2011/08/29/arian-foster-injury-update-its-a-sick-world/

Good commentary on where we are as a society combined with sports..The sickness has always been there since the roman coliseum days - with twitter, and facebook, and chat it is just easier to show the negative, immoral, and "sickness" in general to others.

I honestly believe Arian has a shot at 1900 yards rushing, with 15 -20 TD's in a healthy full season (he actually looks more "cut" and fit this year than last year) but for what is best for him and the team,..maybe sitting game 1 is fine to have a great 15 games and he could still put up nice numbers - the backlash and wishy washy stance from fantasy blogs on whether Arian is all that or not is laughable...but like facebook, fantasy is the rage for it's good and bad and here to stay. ...and honestly, fantasy has advertised for Arian and the Texans very well.

Gotta take the good with the bad regarding fantasy. .

Very encouraging - hope it holds true. I'm very happy about what we're doing on that side of the ball.

Kevin Blackistone went on PTI earlier today, and said that Peyton Manning not playing in week 1 wasn't a big deal because:

    1) Curtis Painter is the back-up, and he's been learning the system for years, so he should be able to step in and play decently

    2) Arian Foster could be out, in which case the first 2 weeks (@Houston, Cleveland) for the Colts are basically bye weeks anyways.

Do these dumbasses actually get paid to come on national TV and say this stupid ****?? Curtis Painter looks worse than my 6 year old nephew, and the last time I checked, the Texans still have Andre Johnson, Matt Schaub, Owen Daniels, and some pretty serviceable running backs behind Foster. I understand that the Texans have done nothing to warrant national respect, but my God....you don't have to sound like a f***ing imbecile.
