Dunta would be such a nice safety. Have teams been unwilling to consider this?

I think to attribute all of what happened to the Falcons' ballhawking skills or what happened to the Texans' pass defense to one man is ridiculous.

 LOL! In the NFC South, you don't play against Peyton Manning!

Also, thank you for comparing the entire Falcon defense to the entire Texans' defense, and not Dunta vs. Kareem. :p

Looking at the Texans vs. Chargers highlight video posted in the Texans Offseason thread, I believe that is a game we could have one with Robinson. It looked like Jackson could not stay on his feet on a big gain by Tutu (gotta believe Robinson would have made the initial tackle), and Robinson was 3 yards off the WR on the final TD that gave SD the lead with 4 min to go (gotta believe Robinson would have made it more difficult or held the guy).

I would say the Texans would have had 4 more wins, 10-6 and in the playoffs.

Atlanta's QB (though of course not in Manning's or Brees's class) isn't too bad, either.

How many fewer games would the Texans win this year had Daunta played last year? Going 6-10 last year led to major changes on the defense for this season, which was sorely needed. If the Texans had gone 9-7 last year (with the help of Dunta and pulling out one or two of those fluke games) it would have been another fools gold as when they went 9-7 two years ago and followed it up with the stinker last year.

Deion couldn't save what the Texans were last year, much less Dunta.

    this.

just a weird thread. you can't estimate what one player would or wouldn't do. Plus Dunta wasn't THAT great last year even in comparison to kareem. Plus Kareem wouldn't have developed as much in theory. Plus all the other factors that would have happened anyway. Plus the $$ that we wouldn't have had

I don't think you can safely say that one player, especially a non-playmaker, on a defense can be worth 4 wins. Dunta's remaining strength was open field tackles, not ball-hawking or coverage.

It keeps being mentioned that dunta's pass coverage skills aren't good...I think everyone knows that. What's being missed here is that average or even slightly below avg is still infinitely better than the garbage Kareem put out there last year.

An average defense would have done wonders for the texans last year...that's been stated over and over. Therefore, replacing the worst CB in the NFL last year with an average CB would have helped the texans get closer to that average mark.

I keep wanting to make a red rocket joke, but I can't find appropriate quotes or vids, so I'll just say it.

You're named after the act of jerking off a dog.

    That makes me chuckle.

    Thank you.

Am I allowed to change my vote?

Here's my super long explanation of why I think we COULD have started off what MIGHT have been the greatest dynasty in the history of sports if we didn't ship off DRob.

Here in Houston, where Dunta was familiar with the system, he MAY have had a career year racking up INTs and forced fumbles, and POSSIBLY being the perfect mentor to Kjax, who SEEMS like he has all the tools to be a great corner. This would have THEORETICALLY made them the best CB tandem in football. Through all this, Quin MIGHT have proven to be too good a player to come off the bench, forcing Bush to move him to FS, where he MIGHT have thrived. Also, since this THEORETICAL D MIGHT lead the league in TO's they would hardly be on the field, so Barwin and Demeco MIGHT not have suffered their injuries. Barwin SHOULD have spelled Mario so he could recover in time for the playoffs, and 59 and 56 MIGHT have continued, or MAYBE even would have improved their dominance from the previous year. With this team, we THEORETICALLY would be playing from ahead all the time, allowing Foster to POSSIBLY break all the NFL rushing records, forcing Kubiak to feed him even more. Oh, and I forgot to say that all the extra playing time given to Barwin MIGHT have given him the OPPORTUNITY to MAYBE become a top 5 DE, and he MIGHT have given all the opposing QBs concussions as he sacks them. In all POSSIBLE playoff scenarios, the other team MIGHT have been so frightened of getting punked that they MAY put out their reserves to let their starters save face. We MIGHT have beaten the Packers 56-0, and have Jacoby would be MVP because he POSSIBLY could have run in every punt for a TD.

During the offseason, all of the top FA's COULD have agreed to sign with the Texans for he vet minimum so as to be a part of the GREATEST THEORETICAL DYNASTY OF ALL TIME!!!!

Also, the Black Eyed Peas break up because they could actually hear themselves and realized they suck. And Cowboy stadium caves in sometime during the season, so the SB is moved to Reliant, and Wade Phillips (ashamed of his work in Dallas) comes here anyways.

And Foster runs for president (part time, because he's a RB full time. Duh.) and brings world peace. Artest is his vice president.
