As always, no PBP in the thread. If you need that try one of the game cast sites. Keep discussion to this series. If it is not about this series it goes somewhere else. 8-29 Ross Ohlendorf, RHP vs. Wandy Rodriguez, LHP 7:05 on FSH 8-30 Charlie Morton, RHP vs. Henry Sosa, RHP 7:05 on FSH 8-31 James McDonald, RHP vs. J.A. The Astros have a long way to go to reach the Pirates streak of 18 (soon to be 19) consecutive losing seasons. It is a shame that the 'success' the Pirates will enjoy this year will most likely consist of 86 losses (providing they over achieve and finish 14-15). Years and years of drafting high haven't helped them much.
remember that thread where somebody was wanting us to emulate the Pirates? LOL @ losers who want to lose.
The only thing I want the Astros to emulate about the Pirates is to sign the consensus number one pick next year.
Same here. Earlier in the year though, it did look like they had a chance to have a .500 season and for them, that would have been a monumental feat. Their recent play has made that optimism look silly.
The strike did enable Bagwell to win the MVP award that year, otherwise the broken wrist would have most likely cost him.
I'm watching the Phillies game. Through 5 the only baserunner off Hamels was the result of Hunter Pence's famous defense.
Pretty much. They focused on the fact that he fell down, but he took a bad route, overran it, then slipped and fell trying to go back for the ball.
