Gee, we are now finding ourselves in a time where 13Mbps is too slow.

Google with it's endless revenue from its search engine is constantly challenging the status quo created by oligopolies in other industries. Look at the pressure they're putting on Apple, Microsoft and now companies like Comcast and probably Verizon in the future. These companies create products and services that serve their own interests and ensure their own long-term revenue streams. Google keeps coming in and creating competition and forcing issues of using better technology for society.

I for one think it's great and also welcome our Google overlords.

Well, we're all slaves to something. Might as well be Google.

When they say competitively priced, I honestly think they mean it's a 100x faster but only 50x more expensive; and probably more for commercial use.

Financial and trading transamasactions, intronets; research institutions sharing their research with each others moar. Maybe at some point they could run those cables across the Atlantic and/or Pacfic Ocean.

And when they decide to exterminate you or "improve" you by removing emotions and independent thinking with biotech because you are not useful to them in your current state, what then?
