Anyone wanna play, just downloaded it, I have 1.6 lol, hit me up with your steam account and i'll add u!
I was pretty hardcore from Oct. 1999 to 2005. Lost some interest after source came out ...i mostly stuck with the fun custom maps for the most part. I started to play more Day of Defeat as it was a better team game and soon faded out CS:S. I loved going on TMP rampages though, especially in tight quarters. I'm pretty sure I could have been president of the US had CS not side tracked me in college.
1.6 FOR LIFE! Started back in the BETA days and played in CAL, CEVO and other various leagues. But CS:S destroyed the reputation and gameplay that millions loved in 1.6. Used to run a 10 Server 1.6 community. If you have heard of Ninja Girl from CS:S, I was the one that got her into the game when 1.6 was hot. She was recently voted top 5 hottest gamer chicks. Google her. Most of my team and I now play SCII but every once in a while we bring it back to the old school and find scrims on MIRC and see if we still got it. WE DO I hope CS:GO was as good as 1.6 if not better. But Good luck, it will be hard to match up to it. My team site is still up in hopes of one day playing again. I know lame but it made me some good pocket cash. http://clanhbk.com for life
Played since 1999, remember the days of watching CPL on IRC... no HLTV, no spectator streaming... just straight up reading texts in IRC and going nuts over it... amazing then remembering watching Frag or Die... revolutionary... seriously, that video seems so **** now, but it was an amazing video... watched it everytime before a CAL match to pump myself up
i used to have an awesome tag of a donkey with a wizard hat and holding a magic wand...it was awesome. (obviously, my tag was DonkeyMagic).
Source really did kill Counter-Strike. There are still people playing 1.6 today. Amazing! SCII looks f'n awesome - how is it so far?
These are pretty much my thoughts exactly. I played since 1.3 (I think? -- Dec 1999) and liked both 1.6 and CS:S. To stop, I had to get my roommate to put a password on his computer since I didn't want to install it and would play a lot on his when he wasn't around. My best memory was killing Gooseman on Dust when all the T's were running up the ramp and I decided to shoot one of the guys near the back. Assault was fun as CT since it was so stacked against them it was gratifying to win. Must resist new game...
heck yeah, i used to play on the sG server but not too many people playing on that, IBIS server seems a lot more popular, but its a mix of ZM and ZE

I still play (Scrim/Leagues) on 1.6 to this day. Played at WSVG against NiP and other top teams. Hopefully CS:GO will get eSport back to where it once was. iton86@sbcglobal.net is my email if anyone wants to scrim or pub.
Is 1.6 available on Mac? I'm that dude now. I used to be such a geek about 5 years ago, built my entire computer so it could be a fragging machine! I played at a pretty high level (though not NiP), but I was in a top 3 Belgian team at that time. Boy when I look back at it, it was good times, but I think about all the p***y I wasted chasing, granted was only 15.
It was 2006 or 07 in Louisville. I play on a lan team nTENSE. Played Cal-Main and CEVO. Hopefully CSGO brings CS back to ESWC days.
Nope, same one. Played against Spawn and HEaton and those guys. Heaton looks like a r****d playing CS.
