Really? I find it's the place that requires the most napkins of them all and I usually have a little grease puddle on the paper.

I usually get chicken sandwiches at JitB but when I tried the Jumbo Jack it was pretty questionable.

    oh look an In-N-Out thread!

for those who can't stand In-N-Out fries- that is the taste of a fresh POTATO fried in oil.

    I know it's a novel concept.

I can't believe you have Carl's Jr at 8. I see you have never ate a $6 Western Burger.

I have had Burger From almost every place on your list and none of them can hold a candle to the $6 Western Burger

I think my favorite burger in Houston right now is the Blue Cheese Burger at Barnaby's.

Since people have branched out from fast food burgers, I'll throw in the Quad Heart Stopper or the Philly Cheesesteak Burger from Hub Cab Grill as great hamburgers.

The way in-n-out fries their potatoes is most certainly a novel concept.

But can I order them fried properly? And I have no problem with vegetable oil. (but of course, you knew that). If they aren't fried properly, it's just a bunch of wasted potatos...........well, unless you're serving them to some fanboy whose never tasted a decent french fry. Frying them longer doesn't cut it, and sad but true, but if you aren't going to take the time to fry fresh potatos in two batches at two different temperatures, then you'll get a superior product just frying something frozen out of a bag.............unless of course you're frying them for some silly fanboy.

Then again, food tastes are subjective. I'm sure if In-N-out served boiled steak, who am I to tell you it's no good when you tell me it's the best steak in the world.

Apparently not. I think the word he should have capitalized is FRESH. But if you don't fry them twice, it don't matter if you pulled that potato out of the ground that same day, they will be limp and in that case frozen fries taste better.

Exactly.......or you can fry them longer till they are "extra crispy" and not limp...........but then you screw up the texture. Either way, it's lazy and inferior.

Good call - Barnaby's has some good burgers. I'm a fan of their green chile burger.

What? No way. JITB is like eating cardboard! McDonald's isn't great, but it's way better than JITB.

Posting from Whataburger now. Had a double meat whataburger with cheese, grilled onions and jalapenos, and the buns toasted on both sides. It might not have been Hubcap Grill, but it was really good.
